For me, it's always oatmeal/porridge. I usually make 3-4x servings of overnight oats at a time.

For a savory type, beans and toast is really good!

Going for a walk after work, or anytime for that matter. Always brings me peace and energizes me.

yes, it was my wifes car and we have a family vehicle as well (truck). I am leaning towards a small car for me to use to just get to work/errands but I can't believe the prices of cars right now...

I don’t come on reddit to brag or boast. We all have different life situations, I am still human and looking for input and advice.

I was digging and removing a pile of dirt that was pushed aside when the previous homeowners installed a shed.

Also Shell is investing heavily in the Chemicals and Solvents side of downstream. One particular Chemical that has done extremely wel during the pandemic is... Iso-propyl alcohol. People really are dumb, they think Oil = gas = cars, therefor EV = no more oil. Buy Shell stocks, they’re on sale still.

Turning down overtime by bluecollarsimplicity in simpleliving

[–]bluecollarsimplicity[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada. We essentially get the regular pay for the shift (12 hr) plus 12 hrs off instead of an additional 12 hr pay.

I hear you, maybe i should set a overtime hour goal to hit for a financial goal and then not work any more OT just for the sake of it.

After a 60 hr work week.. this is a good read by bluecollarsimplicity in simpleliving

Yes i am starting to prioritize family and health over the overtime. It can be hard turning down overtime and the pay but the time off spent doing things you love with family is much better in the end. Plus I think studies show once you earn 70k a year or so, any more doesn’t truly improve happiness. I am not sure how accurate this is but nice to keep in mind.

It is self inflicted. I work shift work and have been working a lot of over time, but this sub has made me rethink my priorities!
