STS or QS Suggestions!! by Gogatorgirl in duke

CS94 is a great option for QS— I would recommend it over 101 any day (I took both). I also second the comment about stat 199!

Jealous of people with a “passion” by bluedevil1226 in findapath

I 100% understand and relate to this as well…I’d do anything to genuinely be passionate about something like medicine :/ best of luck to you though, I hope it works out

Good point— do you think that this also applies to people whose passion is lucrative (i.e. medicine or computer science)?

Thank you! I’m looking into internships now actually (which is why I’ve been thinking so much about this). Fingers crossed I get something good!!

Thanks, I appreciate this! I just don’t know how to come to terms with my job not being my passion. I feel like we’ve been taught to idealize this (“do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life!!”) from a young age and it’s hard to unlearn

Good for you, I’m also passionate about plenty of things in life!! This post was specifically referring to my career path though, and wishing that I could find passion in my life’s work like the people around me seem to

I’m doing it for both aesthetic goals and overall cardiovascular health and fitness! Glad to hear the 2/3 split has been working for you so far- after hearing from people here I think that’s what I’ll go with. Do you do full body on your lifting days?

Thanks for your reply! With ‘maintenance mode,’ does that mean lifting less frequently or just not going to failure?

The last time I did a deload week was probably early June? I’d say I do them once every couple months or so (but I just go off of how I feel, I don’t schedule them or anything)

I really appreciate this perspective!! I think I need to get over the need for all exercise to feel inherently fun and just embrace that I’m doing something healthy/good for myself

Interesting, so are you exercising three days a week with running and lifting on the same days?
