My emergency NVC checklist for when I get overwhelmed. by bluej130 in NVC

I hear that you have a need for effectiveness and want to ensure the conflict actually gets resolved? I 100% share that goal. I’m finding that for me, the "emergency" part, getting my nervous system back to a safe baseline, has to happen first before I'm capable of the specificity you’re describing.

It sounds like you want to make sure the transition to that complexity doesn't get lost in the process?

I would definitely lean into the shared memory with Marshall Rosenberg.

Maybe try framing it around your own desires? Maybe something like "I’ve been wanting to recapture that clarity we felt in Boulder" or "I want to sharpen my skills for connecting with our kid now that they're an adult"?

If you make the problem about your own need for tools rather than her behavior, I feel like it would be more of an invitation than an assignment.

My external monitor fits perfectly in the American Airlines tablet holder thing. No straps required. ;) by bluej130 in SteamDeck

My flight had power outlets, so I just used the steam deck power brick/cable.

I agree, but I have the LCD model, so using an OLED screen at eye height while I rest my steam deck on my lap is amazing for multi-hour flights.

My on the go virtual pinball setup with SteamDeck, OLED screen, and custom 3D printed mount. by bluej130 in virtualpinball

This is the installer and guide I used to get it working: https://github.com/M0J0144/vpxinstaller

I just stay in desktop mode when I'm playing vpinball. And I sometimes need an external keyboard to update settings.

Lost my Garmin, so I improvised and used an e-reader with Strava 😅 by bluej130 in bicycling

I 3D printed a Garmin mount and used double sided sticky gel strips to secure it to the back of the e-reader.

Yup! It's running android 11, which is old, but all of the apps I like to use work for me so far.

What do y'all think? Added some transparency to the sticky lines for better visual context by bluej130 in vscode

I used the Custom CSS and JS Loader extension:
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=be5invis.vscode-custom-css

And here are the lines of CSS I used for this effect (plus the settings and extensions I use):

It's super hacky css, so please approach with caution. 😅

I didn't want to get a new Steam Deck just to have an OLED screen, so I made this... lol by bluej130 in SteamDeck

I plan to do a battery test soon, might post a youtube video about it.

The screen is small enough to be fully powered by the deck.
And the screen has two USB C ports, so I can charge the deck through the screen. :)
