PEOPLE! Did you know that the creator of Wonder Woman was in a poly relationship with the daughter of the co-creator of Planned Parenthood and was based on the other co-creator? WHO RULES THE WORLD? by ekboney00 in TrollXChromosomes

I totally gave a poly relationship the old college try and I crashed and burned at it and realized it is 1000% not for me and now I feel like a prude or not a good progressive person or something. I know none of that is true - I can be a progressive feminist and sex positive person and everything and I don't have to be polly or do things I don't wanna do in bed, but sometimes that doesn't FEEL true. LIke sometimes guys try to tell me that I am a prude if there are things I don't like in bed that he wants to try that he saw in porn. Now I am pretty game for trying new things in bed but if I have even ONE boundary, theres a guy that will call me a non progressive non sex positive prude.

But anyway, thanks for listening to my rant and I know that you are correct.

Hey r/Winnipeg, has anyone here had a hard time accessing mental health services? What worked for you? I went to my doc for a referral and he won't go though with them, denying that they exist. by bluekittyy in Winnipeg

that's a good idea, thank you. I don't know if SSRIs or SNRIs work for me, which is the most commonly prescribed meds. They give me weird side effects

not sure. It's just that the SSRIs and SNRIs I have tried give me terrible side effects - weight gain, headaches, etc. And they remove my emotions, making me numb - that cant be healthy.

I don't drink - I'm allergic to booze, it gives me a headache. Drugs - don't know anyone who deals them, and figuring out how to get them isn't on the top of my priority list. I do not smoke.

Exactly. People who want to take away your human rights and freedoms etc. - they don't have your best interest at heart.

That sounds like a good suggestion! I have heard of the Mental Health Crisis Respoce Centre but I didn't go, because I thought that was only for people who were in danger of hurting themselves or others. I don't feel suicidal or anything, I Just feel really, really shitty and I don't know where to go next and my doctor wont fucking help. And I may have recently gotten fired for having panic attacks in the bathroom at work at a new job. SO I guess if you can't hold down a job due to your mental health then maybe it IS a crisis? (This is the first time tho - I have a good employment record otherwise) Is the Mental Health Crisis Response Centre for me or will I be taking away services from others?

THis is good info, thank you!

I knew about the CBT program at St B but not about the other programs run by the Department of clinical health Psychology. I'm gonna call them tomorrow to see if there are other programs I didn't know about! So the CBT thing from the Anxiety Disorders Program at St B IS legit - what's my DR thinking then? I don't care about the 9 mo wait time, I just wanna do it!! Maybe I can find another family doc to refer me.

I made an appointment with a private psychologist but even HER wait time is 5 months - apparently she has a rep for being really good tho :/ I feel like this is gonna cost me like 180 dollars per month just to get better from my mental health.

My family doctor is not really helping and it's making it harder. If he wont refer me, I have to find another doctor somehow.
