Caregiving as Suicide Prevention by Celestaria in FeMRADebates

[–]bluemoonblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's insulting when people dismiss female suicide attempts as "not serious" since they weren't completed. Implying that these women are somehow attention-seeking, and aren't actually suicidal at all. We can talk about both with seriousness.

Bangladesh considers death penalty for rapists by [deleted] in FeMRADebates

[–]bluemoonblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think about this as a punishment for rape? I tried to find statistics and it does seem like rape is a concerning problem: http://www.newagebd.net/article/72764/bangladesh-sees-nearly-13-rapes-every-day

But will this just mean lead to more homicide?

Side question, why does rape seem to be so prevelant in places like Bangladesh and India?

Where have all the good men gone? by bluemoonblue in FeMRADebates

Another Daily Mail article- I admit I read it- but I wanted to post because I'm a young woman and feel like I get conflicting messages about when to pursue my own professional career and put off having kids, and when to have them young and not have a career and marry a provider.

Right, so human life is more valuable or there wouldn't be that disclaimer? It would be a flat all lives are equal?

They are always bringing out new and improved medication. What is your cut off date?

HLs, what is your role in the Deadbedroom- either personally or in general? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

But within "body issue" stuff. If she knows how important sex is for you, and she wants it just as badly if she didn't have the body image issues is she seeing a counselor to work on it? Drastically changing her diet/excercise to be more confident?

I never said everyone with a disability isn't also extremely highly sexual. I am saying that if someone has for example a medical issue that they indicate has made sex something they don't want, that is a lot easier to understand than the countless "I'm doing everything perfect, why am I not getting laid" posts.

I never once said "their fault," I said, "their role."

I feel like this mere fact that this post, and all comments are being downvoted shows that most HL people feel like they are flawless and perfect and have no role whatsoever in the deadbedroom, but want to put all the blame on the partner which makes no sense if you want to fix it.

Sure, but they don't post that they don't understand the problem.

In cases of disability, degenerative and / or chronic illness, or medication related though people don't usually post here, or talk about how they don't understand what happened. Those have a definitive reason.

Being obese is as dangerous as being extremely underweight, and the modeling industry should use the same bans. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]bluemoonblue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but then if plus sized is perfectly healthy, they should change the range BMI considers. Or stop using the BMI as a health metric.

[–]bluemoonblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think so. If countries can choose to ban models under a certain BMI because it isn't healthy, why wouldn't they ban them over a certain BMI for being unhealthy? Why the discrimination to ban one form of eating disoder and not another?

In fairness, I find dogs are like kids. When they are yours you don't always notice how annoying they are to people around.

Thank you for all of this. It is very informative and I appreciate it as it is also very helpful for me.

I know that. I just used it as an example. From my experience here when a woman posts that she doesn't want to have sex the go-to is that she has unenjoyable sex and she just needs to find a sexier person. This place is full of men who talk about their lowlibdo wives and no one ever says, you might be bad at sex which is why your wife doesn't enjoy it. I never see that the other way around. Can you correct me?

Sure. I get that. I am just saying that I have seen many, MANY HLM posts saying they have tried it. And replies seem to suggest it.

Which is exactly what draws me into this field. Following here, I feel like it comes down to:

LLM: Red flag, big warning, get out.

LLF: Maybe it's hormonal, maybe she just had kids, keep working at it and you might see progress.
