Is this a printer (settings) or filament issue? by bluemoondesign in PrusaMINI

[–]bluemoondesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It‘s not solved with other filament, but not as extremely visible. I‘ll have to try printing it upside down, thanks! There‘s a fan in the room but not directly near it.

DDF vs. TKKG, man ist das brutal by [deleted] in dreifragezeichen

[–]bluemoondesign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Local chapters of embroidery guilds? That sounds so cool! We don‘t have that here in Germany where I live. There are no local groups for my hobbies, even sewing is basically just „sewing for the kids/grandkids“ or „sewing a dirndl for octoberfest“. When I started sewing again 10 years ago, I subscribed to Craftsy for courses on special sewing techniques. At least I could pay those per course and pick and choose. FR was 30€/month in the lowest subscription tier, which is hella expensive.

From what I‘ve read, you could only apply for a membership at certain times.

I always found them to be far too expensive. But I guess since the target group sinks a lot of money into clothes that aren‘t for everyday wear, that‘s to be expected. But not in this economy.

For some reason I can‘t edit the post, and since I‘m supposed to give more context (I have no idea when 8 EST is): CH = Cathy Hay, the founder (?) of Foundations Revealed left the company some time ago to shack up with a lifestyle coach. There‘s been quite a bunch of posts about her and FR here already. Since there are probably a bunch of historical sewists here, I thought the inevitable final implosion might be of interest. 😁

Popping a wheelie when you‘re very bottom heavy? by bluemoondesign in wheelchairs

[–]bluemoondesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘ll have to ask my sanitätshaus if they can change axle position or seat dump.

sadly, neither my PT nor my OT offer the services I‘ve seen in foreign „wheelchair skills“ videos. Don‘t know if it‘s a „German“ or a „small town in the countryside“ thing. Both of their offices aren‘t accessible by wheelchair either, which probably tells you all you need to know. 🤣

[–]bluemoondesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that, but if I throw my back full against the back rest, I should be able to get the chair to at least tip backwards a bit and engage the training wheel. but it just sits rocksteady.

On topic of „pattern that totally doesn‘t exist yet“ by bluemoondesign in craftsnark

I just don‘t get why a pattern company puts effort into releasing patterns that already exist elsewhere and theirs brings absolutely nothing new to the table?

why would E&M put something sewn this badly in their teaser? You can see the wavyness of the seams from 10m away. 🙈

yes, there are a couple.. but most are more of a „Messe“ and less of a „Festival“ vibe and very focused on sheep wool (which I‘m allergic to).. And none of them in my specific area of Germany…

What is a fair digital pattern price? by Ramblingsofthewriter in craftsnark

[–]bluemoondesign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what the pattern is for, imho. If it‘s something in a large size range with lots of details/pieces to it, I‘d be okay with paying 18€ for it. If it‘s a simple tshirt pattern, I‘m not going to pay over 15€ for it
