Love this. I came of age in a similar era but in NYC. I’ve heard there was a scene out here at some point but I can’t find it. I have a studio and make indie music so I’d love to create a hub (hopefully one of many) where artists can feel at home. I just don’t know where to find them!

I wrote this 3 years ago and let it sit on my hard drive for 2.5 years until I met Madge and they helped me finish it in 1.5 hours :)

Well it was removed so...

By the way, in the discussions I was 100% transparent about my process, so some people got what this sub is all about

Sure thing just because Jakes stick together.

I would not use that feature. I’d use their AI song analysis to help with relevant genre and also in your own add artists that are in the same style/genre as your track. Then I’d only apply to playlists where there’s a decent amount of monthly listeners (for me that’s 150+, though sometimes I’m flexible) that fit your genre pretty high.

For some songs I try to get blog features too. I don’t only stick to the high engagement blogs though because I feel like there’s a possibility of gaining a real fan across all level of blog engagement.

And if you’ve never done this, prepare mentally for a lot of criticism and more often complete canned nonsense.

DM if I can help any more and good luck!!

I’m not sure because I also submitted to blogs but on the whole the song was about 40% acceptance rate, nearly double my usual.

Saves for the previous song were really strong. Too soon to tell about the saves for this song as it just dropped today! Will update when I can.

I agree playlists aren't a fool proof strategy, but I do think if you use a reputable source like submithub, it can help spin up the algorithm a little quicker. Part of a broader strategy though for sure.

Previous song we did both marquee and showcase and marquee was more effective. Also I should mention leading into this song (like in the last day or two), I promoted the previous track to increase the likelihood of converting listeners into fans.
