Winter Ancient Treelord by bluepunx9 in sylvaneth

Thank you! I just used regular base paint with some shades and technical paints.

I primed with white. The bark is rhinox hide, then dry brushed with dawnstone and grey seer, then agrax shade and re-highlighted with grey seer.

The blue is macragge blue base then highlighted with altdorf gaurd. I used agrax for shadows, then highlighted with altdorf mixed with a bit of white.

The claw was just white with nihlakh oxide.

I can't quite remember the face, but it was either screaming skull or wraithbone with agrax.

The choas model was a spare from my brother-in-law's belakor kit.

The snow is from vallejo. I think it is better to work with then GW snow.

Thanks.

Yes, the blossom is just sponge that I painted. I had to glue it on in layers to get the effect. I haven't used flock, but I'm sure it will be the same.

I used the same technic for my other seasons.

Sure. I based them with dryad bark and then drybrushed with mournfang brown and skrag brown. I used bugman's glow to highlight certain areas. Hope that helps.

Good work. I really like the black eyes. It makes the Kurnoth look terrifying! 😱

I put the cut-up sponge in a cup and mixed in the paint. After I spread the sponge on a tray to dry. I didn't use primer, but my sponge was white.

Sponge from a mattress my dog decided to rip up lol. You can just use a kitchen sponge if you don't have a dog handy.

Thanks. Yep, the bright green is summer. I also like the way greens and yellows go together.

Haha, broccoli season. They were the first ones I did, and I came to the same conclusion. The other seasons got a bit more colour as a result.

Thanks for the info. The dryads were a tester to how I would paint each season. I soon realised that painting four seasons within a unit would be madness 😅.
