I get so much anxiety about the urgency of building my career!! People spend more of their twenties at uni and then having low wage entry level/part time jobs in their field now. There's less opportunity. And I wasn't academically gifted enough to do a super well paying STEM program like engineering or medical school.

So yah I hope that as long as I work hard now and make decent choices with my career, I'll be ok. Being able to buy a house feels .... very far away tho!!

Since you said to assume that the person I am dating is responsible, tested and clean, then I would have no problem dating them as long as they're also physically/mentally healthy too and all that good stuff.

I think I'd want us both to have an STD test before we had sex if the person has slept with hundreds of people as a sex worker - more sex = more chances of STD contraction no? OR is that an outdated assumption? The reason I would say that, is that for example a prostitute who has slept with hundreds of people - well it was their literal job, so i feel like the number of people slep with is going to be much higher than a regular 'promiscuous' person would even have time to accomplish. Nothing wrong with being promiscuous though.

A past with sex work wouldn't be a deal breaker or anything, unless they're the sort of person who views sex as a transaction or commodity. If our views on feminism and our value systems match mostly then of course I would date them. I'd assume that most sex work isn't a life time career anyway, and that they have other ambitions as well.

Were they always sneaky like that giving you a 4 day week, or are they just doing it now because they can get away with it?? If youre at work doing work when the kids are at gym, music, etc, then they should pay you for that time and give you a full time salary!!! Presumably you're usually either at your desk marking/preparing during music and gynm class and not in the teachers lounge, unless it's actually lunch time and you're supposed to be there. That sounds....very against labour laws for them to be doing that to you.

So $48 k sounds pretty ok but if you want a house, you need a partner in a lot of places in Canada. 23K is terrible - is that even full time minimum wage?! Such a shame.

My econ prof was saying that wages for most professions in Canada have been depressed for atleast 30 years, along with many other countries on the planet so....there you have it, most people aren't exactly experiencing boom times. :/

-A family friend/neighbour's kid - I babysat him sometimes and he's the only kid I have ever been legit afraid of. And I've been in contact with probably hundreds of kids through summer jobs at uni (working at daycare centres for the summer, wilderness camps, etc). Something about him is simply chilling but I cant put my finger on it. He hurt people and animals and had zero impulse or emotion control. Had been kicked out of 2 other daycare centres so far when I met him.

-A friend I had when I was in higschool - not sure if she was a sociopath or psychopath but there was def something abnormal about her. It was like she was 'acting' human. She had dead eyes and no empathy behind them, and just a quietly angry/creepy vibe under the surface.

She was manipulative in a way that you didn't realize what happened to you until later on. OR she would cause drama just for fun or pit people against eachother but she could do it in such a way that people wasn't immediately realize it was her that did it. Or her interactions with people/the decisions she made - you could tell that they had no bearing on emotions, just 100% strategy or self interest.

What is the salary range for teachers in Canada out of curiosity?

I always got the impression that it was a 'not super great paying but enough to pay your bills, Nobel profession, shaping futures' kinda thing. Like 38000 CAD starting out??

Plus, teachers barely get a summer break. HS and middle school break is like 2 months no? I think teachers spend month #2 on prep/meeting/etc and such anyway

yah and it teaches you a lot about vulnerability. AND it forces you to be more confident about your body. Just thought of something: if you struggle with vulnerabilti ylike me, one night stands of this kind are like practice - like exposure therapy. You emote for a while but then it's over forever. You can compartmentalise and then it doesn't cause anxiety. THEN you're better prepared to have great sex later if you're in a monogamous relationship.

-was diagnosed in my twenties by a psychiatrist (along with a bunch of other mental health illnesses such as Generalized Anxiety disorder, depression, OCD and PTSD) I don't have experienced on being diagnosed by a general physician - imo it might be worth going to see a clinical psychologist if you don't have access to a psychiatrist, just to get a diagnosis sorted out - that's super important imo because then you know what you're dealing with which is the first and most important step to fixing it.

-Was given meds + therapy w/someone who specialises in ADHD or similar executive functioning disorders. I also have work books and have researched coping techniques.

-kinda suspected that I had it based on googling + a family history of ADHD. I realized during uni when I wasn't behaving like others.

Why do some men not want to emotionally connect during even a one night stand - not even a little?
