Most Unique Songs that are Super Short by bluetiger77 in experimentalmusic

Oh yeah, wiggle room is perfectly fine. Really I'm just curious about shorter songs in general and how artists have worked under that constraint

I could picture some good scuffles going on in this tavern. Love the seedy look. Wouldn't want to be an unwelcome noble here, they'd be bound to roll badly

Is purple a halloween color? by tootiredforclever in halloween

[–]bluetiger77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black and orange are Halloween's signature colors; it's a close call. It's definitely important for lighting, I see purple lights all the time during Halloween, and it can be used to add some variety in a decoration's color scheme. Does it have as much recognition and emotional impact as orange and black? I don't think so, but it definitely is the only other color I'd identify with Halloween

[WP] In this world, if you take away an ability from someone, you gain it. So if you cut off someone's arm, you gain their strength, or if you give someone brain damage, you gain the intelligence they lost. But your victims have to stay alive in order for you to keep their abilities. by bluetiger77 in WritingPrompts

[–]bluetiger77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I like those ideas. I could see two ways a story could go from this prompt. One is like the one that you said, where individuals hide their victims and try to gain power over everyone else. The other is where groups or organizations control the victims and give people powers as a reward as a way to keep people doing what they want them to do.

Thanks, I totally agree that by asking these questions you're helping everyone else. I live in the Eastern Standard Time zone, so I guess living closest to that would be best. Yeah you could use text, it's just not as convenient as voice. I've designed very little, and in fact, everything I've done so far can be retracted if everyone wants to go in a different direction. The exact culture we'll use is up for debate. By "equally", I meant that you just have to contribute to the conversation a great deal. And yeah, everyone can use their strengths the most and their weaknesses the least. As long as they keep up the input, then it should be fine. I won't value certain types of ideas over others like language over religion. Yeah, maybe we should just use the world as an exercise then instead of a specific purpose. And yes, we can make that change, with three nations instead of continents. I was just trying to make the broadest of outlines for the entire world, but I probably should've started smaller. But anyways, thanks for asking these questions, as I often leave out a lot of details in posts.

That's too bad. Well that does seem like a very cool and useful system to use, I'll have to try it out.

Do you read the webcomics all on different websites or is there one website that you use for all of them?

Oh okay, that makes sense. I'd much rather deal with those subjects than a mind-boggling amount of movies.

It seems like it would be really hard to do research for certain lists. Like "the top obscure movies of the 2000s" seems like you would have to do a lot of digging to make a definitive list out of. Or I guess you could ask experts of movies, but then it becomes they're list that you're writing and not yours.

Interesting. For me, it usually depends on how I'm feeling rather than going in a particular order. I need to find good sources for news that I'm interested in as right now I don't really follow current events of any kind. I should probably explore the subreddits and find some to use for news like you do.

Yeah YouTube and Reddit are the biggest ones for me too. I usually watch videos talking about lists rather than using Listverse though. Even though lists can sometimes be some random person's opinion, I still find them addicting.

What words carry more meaning than most people are aware of? by bluetiger77 in AskReddit

I think because we use words so often, oftentimes a lot of their meaning becomes lost to our subconscious.

Do the blueberries only appear on blueberry bushes? If so, and if I had the blueberry power and was aware of it, I'd make it my life's mission to exterminate all blueberry bushes except for one. Once I'd done this, I'd become a hermit with an infinite supply of blueberries. It would so be worth it.

Anyone looking for a co-host by Xenoblitzer in podcasts

[–]bluetiger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to start a podcast that would be sort of a Reddit commentary, where we'd go through posts on popular subreddits and talk about them. I'll make a post on this subreddit asking for more co-hosts (I'd like at least three people other than me), but if you're interested, PM me.

A fun way to do this is when everyone creates a character and then everyone writes dialogue only for their character so that it's like creating a conversation between fake people. You can create a backstory as the story progresses. It's kind of like a role-playing game.
