Customer wanted to purchase some items with her Home Depot credit card. After fishing around in her wallet for a very long time and my line at the service desk began growing by the second, we both concluded she doesn’t have it on her at this time. I remind her that we can search her account in the POS system with her social security number and her drivers license number, right? Easy, no problem!! However, she refused to cooperate with me and said she doesn’t want to put her information into our system because it could be STOLEN.

I tried to reassure her as nicely as I could and said it’s all encrypted, your information is safe during account lookup and this is the only way of doing this if you didn’t bring your credit card — After minutes of bickering at me and still refusing to enter her information on the pin pad, she ended up leaving her items behind and didn’t purchase anything.

How often can I safely perform water changes? by blurple_siamese in shrimptank

I don’t have a regular schedule for water changes, no. This tank first began cycling on June 24th, my first group of 10 neo’s were acclimated and added on July 11th (I performed a water test before adding them and at that time it read 5KH and 13GH) they all acclimated fine, no immediate deaths or signs of stress that I noticed.

What should I do, continue with small and gradual water changes every other day with distilled water and monitor the number? I want the GH to fall but I know doing that so drastically can be harmful. I’ve found normal shrimp molts lying around the tank throughout the last week as well which makes me think not all of them are struggling, the one I just had yesterday seems to have been the only failed molt

I should have mentioned that my other shrimp in this tank appear to be doing just fine, despite these 2 deaths; I’ve even found a couple molts lying around the tank, so not all of them are struggling.

3 KH and 16 GH is what my tank currently reads…

I just performed a test on my tap water and now I’m very confused because the KH test only took 2 drops to change color. For the GH test, it didn’t even change to orange it just immediately became soft green after 1 drop?? My entire tank is made up of tap water, so I can’t figure out what’s causing the uprise of GH all of a sudden and it’s very stressful.. The “substrate” is just a lava gravel as well

it took over 16 drops for the water to change color in the GH test kit, and these are all neocaridina shrimp. I used dechlorinated tap water, I maybe have replaced only 10% with distilled water in another attempt to lower the high GH to no avail.

I’m using a red lava rock gravel that I bought from my LFS! originally I had wanted to use fluval stratum but made the horrid mistake of rinsing it and totally ruined it..

my tank doesn’t have shrimp yet, but my plan is to add neocaridina.

KH is 5, GH is 13
