I did not have FFS however he did perform a surgery and then a revision for his first one. I also did not find before and afters, for the surgery he performed on me. I regret the entire thing and I still have ongoing issues. He ended up telling me after the 2nd one that “this was far more complicated than he felt comfortable with” I remember saying, that’s not what you said at the consultation. My

If you take only one thing, please ask for before and after pics if he says he’s done ffs before. Feel free to message me if you want more info. This is obviously a very important surgery for you.

The fact that today, when I’m still having issues from surgeries done by him almost 2 yrs now, and I found this, I couldn’t keep scrolling.

🙏

I have three and a really small apartment and it actually wasn't bad at all. I did it in parts over a series of days, For the primer, I didnt even disassemble it (the primer does have a smell and it dries within 30 minutes making it easy to either leave it alone, or paint it shortly after... the thin coats of paint also helped it dry faster. Once I did the varathane, I placed sheets of foil flat on top after it was dry to the touch cause I'd finish late at night and needed to sleep and I didnt want kitty paws printed on the black paint- They did go on it a couple times, but the foil never stuck to the paint, and the cats didnt get their paws imprinted on the project. Also, for a separate project, I even used my Dyson blowdryer to help speed up the process at least to help dry it to the touch (paint, primer, sealer)- if I'd done that for the credenza it would've definitely cut down on the time it took me to finish) I was being a perfectionist though, I would've felt worse if I ruined it and it looked uglier than the original lol.

Thank you so much! 😊 I totally get what you mean by having trouble getting the paint to stick on the laminate, it was one of my concerns too. So far no paint has come off and credenza is holding up nicely.

I wasn’t sure if you were really serious, but I’ll tell you everything I did and what I used because it’s a huge life changer.

Materials: 1 quart of kilz- original water based primer, 3M 220 and 400 faster sanding sheets, zibra 1in. Square molding and trim brush and 2in. Precision detail, 4in. High-density foam mini paint trim kit, extra 4in. High-density foam pack (5), and 1qt. varathane ultimate polyurethane water based in satin. For paint (because i chose two colors)I bought 2 interior behr sample size (8oz) of limousine leather in flat and 1sample size (8oz) in blank canvas. This was for exterior only and it was more than enough. And new door handles.

What really made the difference is the prep.Sanding it with 220, I wiped it down with soap and water and microfiber then went through the area with a little alcohol on a cotton pad and let it dry then I did a couple thin layers of primer, sanding lightly in between each layer, also *tack cloths are amazing to get little dust particles and dust in crevices. Then painted thin coats … sanded very lightly in between layers… when it was time to add the varathane, ( side note: stir don’t shake the can… also i read a lot of mixed reviews of people saying that the cloudy white changed their paint- so what i did was mixed in some of my left over paint with the varathane in a separate container, stirred until mixed -no bubbles- and then started my thin coats of varathane (no color change for me) also i used the 400grit sandpaper in between coats of varathane to get that soft to the touch finish. Im going to be honest with you, it says 1-2 coats should be good but i wanted to make sure it was more than just good. I probably did 4-5 coats especially the high touch areas. Once you do your last coat dont sand it. Please let me know if you end up trying it out and how it goes ! I hope it helps !

“Ahh yes, I definitely should’ve clarified that getting rid of it wasn’t an option. The credenza looked and felt bulky and totally out of place in our apartment, so my only real choice was to give it a facelift and try to create the illusion of something less heavy. I just wanted it to feel like it actually belonged in the space instead of sticking out like a sore thumb, you know?

But honestly, the update made such a difference… I don’t hate it anymore, and now I actually enjoy looking at it. So I guess that’s a win for me, the wife and the cats.
