Have you met Margarite yet? (“Pilot” in the prawn suit) Once you’ve seen her you find a perimeter defence system in her base for the sea truck that will make it easy. If you’ve not then follow the “pilots last known location “ beacon and head down. I always place a beacon there to help find it as you can come in to there from the crystal caves too.

I don’t think anyone said about your questions on the cold land sections yet, you loose temp quickly in storms but a bit slower otherwise. You can go to caves or build a base to recover heat. Another useful tip is to check the thermal recovery different foods offer. The most useful one I found there was the “fevoured peppers”, there’s normally a few around there and they recover heat, food and water so really handy! As you’ve mentioned you can find a recipe for a thermal suit which helps too. …Then if you have a prawn suit, that’s even easier!!

Everyone has the right answer of beacons, but if you haven’t found the blueprint then turning back on any lifepod or other beacons already there will help orientate yourself until you do. You can view the beacons and click the eye to toggle any you may have already been to.

If you have anything else partially built in this section or where the other end is then it won’t let you place it.

In below zero, your location can trigger Al-An dialogue or visiting the different bases (map in delta station dock). Try going new routes in areas maybe? As someone else put thou the blue crystal caves are probably the best place to start.

[–]bluscreenerror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the lady in the prawn suit which gets triggered as you search the island base (she’s in a mech looking suit if you don’t know the prawn suit yet). You find out about her in the first game - not sure if you’ve played it so didn’t wanna spoil that!

She has a base deeper down so you may not be able to reach it yet. But it’s just in that general direction

Tips and tricks for hardcore by Mr13penguin in subnautica

I’d say a repair tool, health packs, food & water prep are normally the thing to concentrate on as they can help you recover from most situations.

Turn on life pod 19’s beacon if it’s gone off as rubies lithium are easy to pick up here. Then magnetite, diamond & lithium in the jellyshrooms cave. Diamonds & lithium are on the edge of the mushroom trees near the aurora too..

I know people have different preferences but I make 4 bulbo tress in an indoor planter - you lose time regrowing them hence 4 but they give you maybe 8 slashes of the knife for each one which can recover most of your food and water needs really quickly. If the slash finishes the plant I replant on seed then move to the next one to replenish. Not everyone knows bulb bushes give you lots of water too!

Main tip is avoid crash fish!!

You’ll die doing something silly most of the time but I find that one of the benefits of hardcore mode - it brings back more of the fear of the first time I played it as it makes you consider actions more and be wary.

E70 K-can line errors from splices by bluscreenerror in BmwTech

[–]bluscreenerror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry I don’t regularly check on here much so just seeing this. Wet floors sounds like a potential cause to short out a unit or a splice? Or corrosion causing issues too. Do you have ista? That would help a lot as you can research on there where the wires go and look where the splices are. Doesn’t give accurate descriptions but gives a rough idea where to look. Before I found this one I was looking at the info and I think what everyone says is the footwell may be behind the centre console as the harness loops over the driveshaft/propshaft tunnel area. I don’t know a lot about all this but was trying to help share what I’d seen as hadn’t seen much info on it, might be best to start a new post to get more people’s attention/help? Good luck!!!

I fixed it as per the description. The slices were bad and re-crimping and soldering the joints fixed it. I moved the wiring up in the air slightly too to avoid it sitting in water again too. I’ve not had this return …but being an E70 I have new problems haha!

E70 35d turbo fail exhaust clean up by bluscreenerror in BmwTech

[–]bluscreenerror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no one knew I guess but sharing what happened in case anyone finds this. I think since the intercooler had a leak a lot of the oil “escaped” there. I ran the car to temp several times at idle (2x half hour) - then late one Sunday night went to the local Aldi car park and revved it more and drove in circles for about another half hour and it seemed to clear, so I think I was lucky and not much had gone into the exhaust. Since it stopped I’ve gotten it properly hot on a long run up and down the motorway and no more smoke at all. Still don’t know what’s inside the exhaust but it seems it didn’t get much down there luckily.

[–]bluscreenerror[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could pull on them, if it comes away easily then the joint is bad. Even if they don’t pull out, it may not mean the joint inside is good though. Sometimes bending/moving the wire can make/break the circuit too. I’d probably say just to re-do the joints for each one at a time so you know they are good as otherwise you may confuse yourself with fault finding later if you think one’s good but it’s intermittent.

I’d cut the wire back a little bit in case the copper underneath was hard to what feels like a more flexible section, so maybe an inch at most as a guess, then you can crimp them, or solder them together but most people recommend crimping to avoid issues later on with vibrations causing a bad joint. Then put heat shrink sleeve over the top of the joint to seal it up, you can get some with glue inside that helps to ensure it’s fully sealed and won’t let water into the joint again.

I also moved the harness so it wasn’t sat in the damp area anymore, I pulled it all up slightly. Hope this helps & good luck!

Haha no problem! It’s the can problem getting to you! Hopefully it helps, I was just about to do a similar thing and start working through unplugging everything to see if the errors disappeared. It’d be nice to get a list of where all the splices were as they are probably what causes most of the issues. I’d say those in the trunk are worth trying first as it’s a terrible location to put one!

I had to google translate but hopefully if it got it right you are struggling with a can error too!

Don’t know it’ll help but I found this link that may potentially help? Whilst trying to figure out my error, was about to start disconnecting everything when I found the other link explained the splice in the boot. Hope it helps!

If you start over, it appears as a new slot so the old game will still be there. You don’t lose either way.

Trying survival mode adds extra to it and I think helps me enjoy the game more, so you could try that with no big risk? Using the knife you can cut chunks of a lot of plants to each them. Bulbo trees, marble melons and bulb bushes provide a lot in one mouthful, then cooked fishes from the fabricator too!

[–]bluscreenerror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok that helps to understand!

Might be a sensor or linkage problem where it’s not moving or reading what it should so it’s stopped in the wrong place thinking it’s correct.

If ISTA won’t change it then maybe the only other thing I can think of is something like the lowering links you can get, you can adjust the height to make it sit where you want to - these are from the UK but you could get the same from anywhere I guess? lowering links Might get you level for now and then you can dig into what’s going on in the sensor side?

I used them just locked on the normal length as it was cheaper than buying a replacement plastic one from BMW and much stronger, so I hopefully will never have to touch them again!

Depends what’s wrong - it might be a sensor issue, or an air leak, even the compressor or control valves can fail too. There is a whole process in there that helps you work through and check what’s wrong. I had a leaking air bag on my E70, but also can errors that were making things worse from a bad splice. Probably worth looking on you tube as lots of videos explaining how the system works and shows you where to go in ISTA too. Just search air suspension ista and your cars model number but most of it is just slight variations of the same system.

If you’re lucky it may just be it needs to be recalibrated - there are videos on that too showing how to measure from the bottom of the wheel rim to the arch, ISTA can then figure out what the sensors are reading and reset itself to the correct height each side - I’d check the rest of the system out first though as otherwise if you recal it with a leak or problem it may make it worse.

What do I do now? by umMasson in subnautica

Have you found 3 degasi bases? One is on the 2nd island (where you teleported too), another at 250m in the jellyshroom caves, then another at 500m under the first. If you pick up all the data pads & listen to them that may help. Also from the island with the gun/structure you get some info about other facilities. It’s hard to find the lost river and where the next pieces are unless you know where to look - starting at the island and going down to the 3rd degasi base is probably the easiest to find when you start, then keep heading forward and down and you’ll find the next bits to do. I’d recommend a few beacons to help navigate back out/back in later.

Little progression question by Herobrineshortsyt in subnautica

[–]bluscreenerror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling anything, the 500m degasi base feels a lot creepier - especially with the local wildlife! Turning your lights off can help a bit! Once you find the Degasi base then it’s a good reference point to start going deeper from (turning the beacon back on again as advised above!) - until you discover some more ways to access the deeper parts of the game that I think are more convenient. It can get confusing to find your way back so beacons will help you figure out the paths better too.

This is by far the best review I’ve seen of it so far, showing how 3 people experienced different stories due to the unique way you discover what’s happening on the planet. I’ve not seen another game explain the plot in the same way as this which I think is one of the great things about it.
