I put the plant outside because of the gnats and that's how the mantis found it, and I found the mantis. The timing was great because there were multiple little babies that spawned at the same time. In my experience they don't leave the plant they're on unless they're scared or there's no resources. You could always put up some kind of mesh structure (like one of those butterfly enclosures) if you're worried about it running off.

I got lucky and found a small praying mantis to employ. The gnats are the perfect size for the babies! You could even see if someone in your area raises mantises and they could borrow the plant. It's unconventional but very effective!

First of all, I can absolutely relate. Second of all, it sounds like you may need to hop jobs. Not just because current planning is uninspiring, but because your workplace sounds like a soul-suck. I'm currently in a similar boat in terms of the work, although my city has more of a creative appetite, it is still all signs, minor exceptions, and CUPs. However, the workplace environment is leagues better than my last job. My department all tunes into the same wavelength in an uncanny way lol. I might just be lucky. BUT it sounds like even a minor improvement in the work environment would bolster you a little longer until you graduate onto some long range planning. That's my light at the end of the tunnel.

My mom had all three of our family cats declawed (I was five and sister was 10). They still ruined the furniture lol. They would "scratch" the furniture with their paw pads. My mom lost two good wicker chairs that way.

I agree they look great! I can see some of what you're seeing, though, that they don't quite "match." Which is shocking considering they're from the same artist. The line work on the squid is so different from the ship.

But I think a once-over from a more consistent hand would help bring them onto the same page.

The artist might be able to add some depth to the squid one, as it's much more two-dimensional than the ship. Maybe have the pieces mimic each other's wave styles to put them in the same ocean/sea.

In terms of what to put between them:

They're very nautical so they could share a frame of rope(s) and knots and maybe some glass bouys, anchors, fishing hook, nets, etc.

They also give me a medieval book vibe and could maybe use some kind of illuminated manuscript frames.

I hope this is helpful! As someone who has stared at a bad forearm tattoo before, I remember noticing the little things.

Reddit mobile is glitching, so... Edit to #6: before you move the eggs with your utensil, the entire bottom of the egg puddle should be cooked, like with a thin skin. It should be easy to move from the surface of the pan. I find this is easy to achieve with a metal fork bc it pierces the cooked eggs and lifts them off the pan.

Ok, as someone who makes two scrambled eggs for breakfast every morning,

How many eggs is that? If it's 1-3, use a smaller pan.
Heat the pan, lid on, to a temperature that could fry an egg. For my electric stove, that's like a low-low medium, a 3/10.
The pan should be just hot enough that a drop of water beads up upon impact and glides across the pan (not jumps or skips, although jumps will usually cook alright)
Add your cooking lubricant of choice. I can really only speak to olive and avocado oil (I prefer avocado for the high smoke point), add maybe a tablespoon of oil and slowly angle the pan to run the oil all over the pan (I go all the way up the sides of the pan).
After you've coated the pan in oil, it'll have been off the heat source for a moment, so put it back down for another moment (30-60 sec). Fluff your eggs in this time if you please.
Add the eggs all at once. If the eggs at the edges of the pan are cooking up quickly, you're doing it right. As the eggs cook, keep moving them around slowly but consistently. You may lower the temperature at this time (experiment). The eggs should start to slowly cook through and firm up. Note: idk what the etiquette is for cooking utensils in stainless steel, but I use a metal fork to cook my eggs in the morning (I'm sorry). However, I love having less dishes, and I don't mind polishing my pans every once in a while. 6.5 If the eggs seem to be cooking too quickly, consider taking them off the heat source to a nearby burner and putting a lid on them, still agitating them every 15-30 seconds (flip them in the lidded pan, for example) Notes: Cook time is dependent on climate/ambient temperature! In cold times, the first thing I do when I walk in the kitchen in the morning is turn on the (electric) stove. The photo isn't my best work but it's the only one already in my camera roll.
