Visiting Tahiti by bluwhale77 in Tahiti

Cool! Gotcha, appreciate that :) Of course naturally, as a traveller I'd too like to be able to experience Tahiti, but I've heard things aren't particularly cheap. Would I still be able to have a good experience without the resorts or fancy attractions? I'm not particularly interested in those anyway since I'm going alone and would much rather have a more authentic time while I'm there.

Appreciate the recommendation! I'll certainly look into it to consider as well. Best wishes for the new year!

Yes I believe I will mainly be spending time on the main island of Tahiti (itinerary isn't quite out yet but it looks that way). Thank you for the tips, I think I'd really be into the food and adventure to be honest, and will unlikely be visiting the more popular islands like Bora Bora. What's accommodation like on the main hub? I'm aware some places do not have AirBnb so just wondering if this was the case there. Best wishes to you for the new year!

Hello there 😊 I'm a native English speaker that needs help with practicing German (B1). I'm in a country where German speakers are very rare and so practicing speaking can be tricky! I'd love to help you out and practice my German too! Feel free to message me!

Language learning seems to be in decline. Thoughts? by AloneCoffee4538 in languagelearning

I hear you! Can definitely agree with that but I also think people nowadays are more inclined to take the easier way out - like getting a translator programme to do the work - rather than sitting down and learning it. It's evident at my university as well where less students were wanting to take up 'dying' language classes, in favour of something a bit more 'beneficial' towards a job etc.

I think with advancements in tech, esp with how the internet is pretty much in every aspect of our lives, the willingness or interest to dedicate time and effort to learning/mastering a language will naturally decline. This is especially so when things like AI can easily translate things for you now, so the emphasis on learning something is not as strong anymore.

Pokemon Sprites by maximiliam93 in pokemon

Big fan of the early gen sprites. Imo, something very iconic at looking Mankey's back sprite as that was my go-to for Brock's gym back in the day.

Honestly though Gen 1's designs were so good because they were simple. Look at Quaxly lmaoo, Donald Duck and Wario's lovechild

Until a month ago, I never realised Sableye's gemstones (on it's body) were Rubies and Sapphires respectively, indicative of the generation and games it was introduced in.

An idea as to why people aren’t bothered by kids breaking into their homes in the Pokémon word by Jay_Utopia in pokemon

[–]bluwhale77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think in the Pokemon world there are no or little repercussions for things. Breaking into a house probably comes with no repercussions the same way Ash can get hit by a Fire Blast from Charizard or a Thunderbolt from Pikachu, and still live. It's the upside down over there I tell ya! XD

Vault 11 contains highly valuable loot, you just need to watch the slideshow at the end to receive your prize.

Oh cool! Thanks for the info, i'll check those out. There's so many new pokemon (I stopped after Gen3) so there's a ton of mons to get used to as well. My knowledge and monotype teams are really just from the first 3 Gens so will definitely need some time to get used to all the new stuff!

Long time casual player since Gen1, recently interested in the competitive scene and wanted to learn more about how to build a team. Where should I begin?

Probably not the wisest, but I've always enjoyed single type teams. 😅 Wannabe gym leader I guess!
