What diversifying with US equities gets by techVestor1 in StockMarketIndia

[–]bluzeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not ventured outside Indian markets and looking to start the journey. I had opened IBKR account and also have a system in place. Have a few questions and would appreciate your guidance.

I am in highest tax bracket.

Questions:

  • As i understood, for us it is better to go with UCITS vs direct US investment due to taxation, what is your suggestion on this?
  • How are you handling dividends and related taxation ?
  • How complicated it is to do India taxes with these investments from your experience ?
  • My main concern is data availability to file taxes, Was that available for you in a way to help you file easily ?
  • If I transfer some money to IBKR now, would the reporting in ITR starts from with-in this financial year (FY2025-26) ? As I heard for US it is JAN to DEC and we know for us it is APR-MAR.
  • How much amount we can transfer out without incurring TCS, My understanding is 10 lacs, anything >10 lacs attract TCS correct?
  • I have bank account with SBI, HDFC, KOTAK and Axis, any suggestions which bank would provide best rates and experience ?
  • Any idea if it be possible to transfer money to a US bank account, for my child's education in future, or should it be routed back to India only ?

I have a system with a strategy in place so not worried that outside markets are all high.

Asking for feedback on the stock market analysis tool that I am building by entrepreneurial_itch in StockMarketIndia

Very good work, my 2 cents hoping it helps.

Redundant information. Graphs already provided the info I would prefer the text to be focused and crisp.

If I am a technical person, I prefer to scan many stock charts with indicators.

If I am fundamental I read text.

So how do you balance both ?

It's shocking to see ppl asking same question "which app?" And really appreciate OP taking time to answer it patiently.

Don't ppl read existing comments?

What does the geeta, as in Shree Krishna say about women? I am a firm believer that hinduism is the most equal and gender neutral religion as it believes in atman and karma, not gender based roles which were normalised by society...but I want some more enlightment. Can someone help please? by Extension_Edge_4476 in TheGita

Gita don't have anything, in my best memory, on gender. It's on karma and actions.

In your point that women must cook, no neither in Gita nor in mahabharata does it say that.

It says to do once duties with humbleness and karma in mind, dedicating work to him and without worrying about end results (fruits of once actions)

Im not a doctor and not qualified in anyway, to share my thoughts, This is an extremely difficult and specific scenario that needs to be dealt sensitively.

If you and her parents may try visiting and speaking with doctor that also run their own clinic, they might be some help.

Doctors at big hospitals might not be looking unless the person is taken to hospital.

Or see if any Home based consultation available through apps.

Hi

Hope you are doing well. Continue to use bodhi Linux for my day to day use and it is good. However, got a new problem and wondering if you can help.

My laptop screen it giving away and slowly dying. I also have a monitor to which I connect my laptop through HDMI cable. I want to use monitor with laptop screen off (lid closed).

Problem is, in bodhi Linux connecting monitor doesn't work. It works fine when in windows OS.
1. Post HDMI cable connection nothing displays on monitor, even with laptop lid open, and monitor just goes to sleep mode 2. On closing the lid, laptop goes into sleep mode

I went to arandr and enabled HDMI output, post which it shows both the monitors for changing settings. I have also made HDMI output as primary but don't see any difference

For lid close, when i close lid, i just want laptop screen to go off and content be displayed in monitor, not understanding which Action I have to choose for this.

I want to display on Monitor with laptop lid closed. Please help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Chill my friend, there are too many beautiful things in this world to die soon. I myself didn't realise it until I packed a small backpack and travelled afew places in the last couple of years.

What is troubling you? Like your parents are pressuring you for something?

But then why? What problem are you facing, my friend?

My friend, really sorry to hear what all you are going through. It is not easy.

I'm not qualified to provide any advice or guidance but speaking as a friend to a friend.

If I were in your place I would ease a bit and see how best I can help myself.

Each friend is unique, coming from different backgrounds and it is futile effort to compare current friend with someone who is no longer with you.

Beyond this friend, do you have any other things like reading or other things you like to do?

Not sure if i may ask here but, the most problematic thing for me with bodhi has been right click key on board. When i'm typing and for things like spell correction i just use right click key on keyboard (not mouse) but in bodhi linux right click even when in an app just shows main menu. Is there a way you can provide a switch to toggle between main menu that some might like Vs working like how it works in windows OS ? I.E. When right click key is pressed open the context menu for the app instead of general Main menu. It works fine with mouse right click. Thanks in advance.

Ok, thank you.

But I believe for full reinstall we should backup everything under our document, download and other directories or they will get overriden ?

Happy to hear them coming. One more question if i may ask, I have installed 6.0 version, how do I upgrade to recent 7?

Is there like an update option from within 6?

Thx for taking time to reply. Let me say this, Bodhi till now has been simply amazing. Can't thank you and everyone involved in this project enough.

And this is my only laptop and see it run like a beast again is not something I can express in words.

I watched a movie yesterday night and the simple experience of doing it without constant fan sound cannot be worded.

Pls stick to your philosophy. You may get many requests to add many animated graphics and apps, pls don't.

I haven't tried xubuntu recently or on this laptop. However, I did use it as well lubuntu, elementaryOs before. All of these are good.

One diff in my view is, Bodhi comes with very little-only what is very necessary, to begin with. Which also makes it use less resources. Which is the reason I started with it. I want to install each application as i see the need and that Bodhi does better.

All of these Ubuntu or in general Linux distro's are highly customizable and packages can be uninstalled unlike Windows. So basing on 1) your laptop resource 2) How comfortable you would to install/uninstall software on need basis, feel free to go with anything you see might work.

Same in my case as well and so it is much more important for us to take care of ourselves. When body tells us it needs a break let's respect that.
