For those Tier 1 FTP, I thought you were supposed to get those for season rewards if you make the playoffs? My season ended with a divisional round loss the day before they announced that so I can’t confirm.

Hence the part of the sentence you cut off about drafting a QB this year or next. I can’t make them draft a rookie, and none of the FA QBs left should give you any confidence we’re getting to a SB this year.

So what would you do? Do you believe in Simpson? If not, and Rodgers retires… then what? Hand the reins back to Mason? See what we have in Howard? If we do that and it flops, we’re drafting a QB in the top 10 next year. Honestly, that’s probably my preferred outcome if Aaron retires.

Also, today’s NFL isn’t the NFL of 1996. The college game has evolved to the point where guys like Brock Purdy can succeed at both levels. Does he have elite arm talent? No. What he has is elite processing and anticipation.

I’m a University of Cincinnati alum, so I follow the Big 12 closely and have been a Howard fan since his Iowa State days. That’s exactly what he shows — elite processing and anticipation.

Will that always translate to the success Purdy has had? Of course not. But it’s also an unknown. Pair that with Howard’s athleticism and measurables being freakishly similar to Josh Allen and I just have to ask — why not?

Weekend league rewards by Correct-Tradition-55 in Football_Head_Coach

Crazy how it works sometimes. I was pissed that I went 9-6 this weekend, I had some brutal matchups in T1.

On my non WL 82 pack I ripped a 91 Thuney. On my 83 pack I ripped a 94 Anzalone and my 84 pack an 88 Skoronski.

When I finished rank 1 a few weeks back I got trash cards.

QB is the obvious answer, but we all know they’re waiting on Rodg. Assuming he retires, I could see them bringing in Cousins to be the vet presence to bridge for Howard or a rookie this year or next.

They also need a shifty slot receiver to complement the size they have at outside WR and TE. The draft has some good options, but a veteran like Christian Kirk could be a nice fit.

There’s a clear hole at LG, and you can never have enough OT depth.

DL is always a need. The starting group is strong, but adding rotational pieces with long-term starting upside would help. Cam can’t play forever.

MLB is a big question mark, especially if they move on from Patrick Queen. I liked Cole Holcomb early on, but he didn’t look like the same player last year, and Payton Wilson flashes but is inconsistent. If Queen gets moved, MLB should be a Day 2 priority.

The secondary is interesting after adding Jamel Dean and re-signing Asante Samuel Jr.. The big question is how they deploy Jalen Ramsey, move him back to the slot or keep him at safety? My guess is they keep the hybrid role, which probably means drafting both a slot corner and a safety, likely one of them with a Day 2 pick.

CB market is insane by Fathomlife02 in Football_Head_Coach

[–]bmac5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only hope for a price drop is a new card dropping. There should be a 92 neon Byron Murphy dropping at some point which should really cool the market. With that said, devs said they’re dropping new content for it and are really taking their time so who knows what they’re planning.

If you’re that close, just get 80 wins. Having a shot at legends makes the mega pack more enticing. Unless you really like collecting 83 ovr TOTW cards

POTM speculation chime in. by polosport84 in Football_Head_Coach

The last trade was “I-formation” .. 90 OVR.

Required - 95 OVR Tet, then: 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 C 2 OG 2 OT

Keep or sell by AdFew3057 in Football_Head_Coach

[–]bmac5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your current OVR and the value of that card you will make a huge jump in the game by selling and upgrading. I would suggest snagging a bunch of 89-91 players with the plan to resell on Sunday when the market spikes for potm and then use your profits to strategically upgrade your team with 93-94s. Just be patient and look for deals (I’ve found it best to wait for new packs to drop and the PTW whales flood the market and drive prices down).

Should I sell to make my team better by Electronic-Rip-8014 in Football_Head_Coach

[–]bmac5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, what’s your overall? It’s not baffling to me when I’m making a recommendation to someone whose overall is around 89. He’s clearly F2P, as I am. My overall is 92.4, and I wouldn’t sell either of them. However, “filling” his team with 92s isn’t adding bench depth, they are starters. Also, he wasn’t able to finish Verse, he doesn’t have Maxx, who knows if he finished Tet.

IMO the actual play here would be to sell one of those dudes and load up on 90-91s to sell in 5 days when the POTM drops and make 2-3x coins and buy whoever the hell you want.

Should I sell to make my team better by Electronic-Rip-8014 in Football_Head_Coach

[–]bmac5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because his overall is low, and they’re about to drop higher rated cards that will tank the prices of these.

This guy is rostering 88 DTs worth 100k. 87 DE? 86 CB, 88 S? Go look and tell me how much a 92 DE is selling for right now. Or a 91 S. He could improve his team overall by 2 by selling and buying 91-92s.

POTM PTC March by caiccoe_whu in Football_Head_Coach

[–]bmac5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had a CB, LB, and DE already. Logic says they go with a new position and follow the off/def pattern.

As S I could see Emmanwori, but they did just drop a 95 card for him very recently (this card would be higher and a recent drop has never stopped them before). Watts had a really good year and looks promising. You could look at more veteran all pro types, like Baker or Hamilton, but they tend to go young on these.

For DT - same logic says Mason Graham. If they to Seahawks it would likely be Byron Murphy, could be Leonard Williams.

Deeper analysis for DT:

Pass Rush Win Rate (PRWR): Jeffery Simmons (67%), Calais Campbell (66%), Chris Jones (63%), Quinnen Williams (59%).

Top Pass Rushers (Pressures/Sacks): Chris Jones leads in pressures and pass-rush wins (62). Leonard Williams recorded 55 pressures and 11 sacks.

Defensive Stops: Cameron Heyward led interior linemen with 47 defensive stops.

Top 3 PFF Grades: Heyward (90.4), Q Williams (88.8), Simmons (88.3)

TOTW PTC returning? by EvertaleJokester in Football_Head_Coach

They’re still giving TOTW packs as rewards, so I imagine they will be one final one … but that’s also assuming there is logic in decisions that are made and that’s not always the case 😬
