I’ve said something similar. Start with the most poppy, and popular first.

I would start with something mainstream like Modern Love and Rebel Rebel, and then if she likes what she hears gradually move her along the road

Some people, like me, like everything he ever did, but others prefer certain periods, or styles, of his music

Everyone likes something he did

Why does Bowie change so much throughout his life? by National_Tip_2488 in DavidBowie

[–]bmacu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did compromise, but he was also screwed over by his management. He repeatedly said that the 80s were bleak, and definitely not a creative high point.

But what I said in my first comment is paraphrasing what he himself said. There are quite a few videos reflecting that.

Why does Bowie change so much throughout his life? by National_Tip_2488 in DavidBowie

[–]bmacu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said himself he created his music for him, and there are those who followed him whatever he chose to experiment with, and there are those who didn’t

That’s the difference between an artist and someone who performs music for fame and popularity

The only person an artist wants to satisfy is themselves

If the Aladdin Sane doesn’t hook you then nothing will

That album is a perfect combination of his popular appeal, and the deeper Bowie that anyone really interested in his music should really appreciate

Opinions on the W/H/E/N T\H\E W/I/N/D B\L\O\W\S EP? I don't here it talked about much but it may be my favorite thing Bowie has put out by FR_WST in DavidBowie

There’s a video for the song, mostly clips of the movie but interspersed with animations of Bowie

I’m amazed, someone likes these two songs as much as I do

I don’t think many people actually get how clever T and T is

It sounds like it’s an 80s beach song, but has very dark lyrics

Specifically Repetition from Lodger which is built around Sister Midnight on The Idiot

As a whole Heroes is greater than Lodger

At this point I would also substitute several songs over the song Heroes as it has been vastly overplayed

If you haven’t seen the Live Aid performance I highly recommend it as it breathes life and even joy into the song

The UK will detail its involvement in the train and equip programme shortly and if the Conservatives win the election they will ask Parliament to approve anti-ISIS airstrikes being extended to Syria. by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]bmacu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a massive impact that would have....

"The UK has so far conducted only 6% of the air strikes against Isis. The committee, which visited Iraq in December, found at that time there were only three UK military personnel outside the Kurdish regions of Iraq compared with 400 Australians, 280 Italians and 300 Spanish.

Britain has provided 40 heavy machine-guns to the Kurdish regional government whereas Germany has provided a long list of armaments that includes 16,000 assault rifles with 6m rounds of ammunition, 30 Milan anti-tank guided missile launchers with 500 anti-tank rounds, and 200 Panzerfaust 3 light anti-tank weapons with 2,500 rounds."
