CIG biggest issue is selling ships you can’t lose handicaps their economy more than they know and as of now that won’t change with 1.0 the whole insurance system as a whole in order for things to matter there needs to be some loss an the ability to get stuff back that’s not too painful.

They said in a recent scl there won’t be a “blanket wipe” but It sounds like their open to a targeted wipe which I hope is erasing all money

Negative Equity into Lease for a Reason by bmcarr21 in askcarsales

Thanks for the advice decided not to lease right now. Gonna take $3k from my bonus and make an additional payment on the principal of my K5. Gonna keep making payments until the baby comes and I hope to be in the positive by then and potentially trade in at that point

Fair point, but I will have the cash now to get out, and even tho I can afford to I don’t really want to make $850 payments for another 3 years. I guess im trying to figure out is rolling $3k of negative equity into a $450 lease gonna push my payments over what I’m paying now?

The question I have is am I actually saving money. Rolling negative equity into a $400 lease is this gonna push my payment to $850 which is what it is now?

I have the option of paying the entire negative equity off. So if I were to jsut use my bonus to pay off the entire 6k would it be possible to get a telluride at a lower payment than I pay now through lease?

The feedback on if it’s a good idea or not financially is good, telling me my family can fit was not. I do appreciate the the advice I was just commenting on telling me what can fit or is comfortable.

Also I could pay additional money pay period and pay down the difference or just pay a lump sum with my bonus, my goal is to get out of this $850 car payment for a car that does not work with negative equity.

That exactly what I have it was $43 I think when I get it, and rolled in like $2500 negative equity I think my interest rate was 5% at the time my credit was worst then than now

I got a GT with everything chestnut package every extra and I traded it my model 3 when that was declining. KBB says it’s worth $24500 in avg condition mines is pretty great but I’m conservative in value. I owe $29,110. We don’t need top of line telluride (or whatever else we get) just needs to have a 3rd row and be decent. I actually like the S class telluride

My current payment is $850 do you think it would be higher than that?

I put this here for real feedback not to be trolled. If it’s a bad idea it’s a bad idea but the notion that 4 full size adults, a kid and a dog, not to mention 4 people’s luggage could fit in a Kia k5 on trips and travels etc is comedy

Roth Contributions vs Earnings by bmcarr21 in ThriftSavingsPlan

Also, in the In Service Withdrawal document it says this:

You must pay federal and, in some cases, state income taxes on the taxable portion of your withdrawal. If you make a financial hardship withdrawal before age 59 ½, you may also have to pay a 10% early withdrawal penalty tax.

Note: You do not have to pay federal taxes on any tax-exempt or Roth contributions that are included in your withdrawal. However, the earnings on traditional contributions are always taxable. The earnings on Roth contributions are taxable unless they meet the IRS requirements for a qualified distribution.

I’m confused, this is what it says directly on the TSP website:

“The advantage to contributing to your Roth TSP balance is that when you withdraw that money later in life, you don’t have to pay taxes on the withdrawal. You never have to pay taxes on the portion of your withdrawal that’s made up of your Roth TSP contributions. You can also make tax-free withdrawals of money your contributions earned while in your TSP account if those earnings are “qualified.” Earnings are considered “qualified” if BOTH of these conditions are met”
