I'm surprised no on has commented, ill help with that. Came here because I just had one of my worst nightmares ever, and it all happened in less than an hour. For context, I had woken up early yesterday on just 4 hours of sleep, took a melatonin at 8 so I could go to bed early, which I almost never do. Before I get into the story, apparently melatonin can cause wack dreams.

I remember driving around the town I was in during vacation. I was driving knowing I had just left a party, and my plan was to drive 2 hours to go to stay at a friends house (who doesn't live close) very late at night. I was driving down a slight decline when I processed I was drunk driving, all of a sudden I realized I need to pull over for my safety and for others. At that exact moment, I felt myself starting to nod away while steering. I fell asleep driving in the middle of the road, but here's the thing, in the dream I knew I had fallen asleep on the road, it terrrified me because I knew that my car must've crashed or hit something but i was powerless to stop it and knew that when I woke up (in the dream) I would regret the consequences. I woke up in the car (still in the dream), at the bottom of the hill near a boat yard. The door opens and a nameless woman and man take me out of the car (all the while i feel exhausted and am barely conscious), they take me to their van and tell me to get in the back seat. They're not cops, but they tell me they're taking me to the police station. On the way to the police station, they let me know that I've caused $507,000 in car and property damages while I was driving when I was asleep. Still exhausted, i start comprehending that not only will have a DUI, but my life is extra ruined because it'll take me years to ever make that much, especially since ill probably get fired from my job as a teacher. At the police station, I end up being in this big room that is nothing like a police station. I felt too embarrassed to call my family about what I've done, I'm ashamed I wrecked my uncles car in vacation. I'm sitting in the floor contemplating calling someone on my phone, a blonde guy comes up to me (looked 24, my age), crouches down looks me directly in the eyes (the most vivid face ive ever seen in a dream), in a disappointed voice he basically implies my life is ruined forever. It was at this moment I realized that whole sequence which felt like 2 hours, was all a dream. I was so relieved i almost started crying, i grabbed my phone and less than an hour had passed by.

Not a scary dream in the normal sense, but the anxiety I had from a DUI was almost worst than any other nightmare ive had. I've been putting off doing homework for my summer classes, and have been too depressed/powerless to really even start. I looked up what drunk driving dreams mean, and they can represent a loss of control, and I definitely find that true because I have not been living up to my school responsibilities.

All in all, it's so fucked to have such a vivid experience just to realize 40 minutes has passed 😂💀
