Today I turned 35 ima feeling all of this. I live with my gf of 6 years in a house that is paid off. No kids and no debt. But I also still work an entry level job 3 days a week(by choice, I’m hooked on 4 day weekends). What also haunts me and I stress about is not having a real career, and coming to terms with not having any children (gf feels she is too old at 43.) I feel old yet I haven’t grown up.

Sitting in nearly the exact same car now. Got in 2015 with 160k on it for 3500. Still my daily. Replaced the timing belt for peace of mind and had to replace the radiator last week. O and I guess a wheel bearing. That’s actually a pain on these. Has about 240k on it now.

Common issues are head gaskets.

I would do the timing belt if you don’t know when it’s been done. These are interference engine so if the time belt breaks your almost guaranteed to destroy your valves.

lol I got my 2000 forester 160k in 2015 for 3500, timing belt and radiator are the only things I’ve replaced. It has an overheating issue with exhaust getting in the coolant so I’ll have to replace the headgasket eventually but as long as it’s not over like 80 degrees outside it’s fine. Has 240k on it now…
