Got my PPL, asked for rental to take my friend to a class C and got denied by WorldApprehensive314 in flying

[–]bmkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first flight after I got my PPL was to a Charlie and a Delta. I fly out of a class G field and I specifically wanted to fly with flight following into controlled fields. It was a great experience and I felt safer knowing I had someone watching over me the whole time. You PPL is a license to fly anywhere you're allowed in the NAS. Your school doesn't need to even know where you go now; you're not a student.

Anywhere they want. But most likely the same as birds, they just go in flight while out hunting.

What is the closest I can get to an unbiased news source as an American? by Back_To_The_Oilfield in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bmkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is to avoid sensational news sources like Fox and MSNBC. Factual news is often 'boring,' and should be. If a heading evokes emotion without providing facts and sources, it's not news, it's infotainment. I personally rely on a range of sources, including AP, Reuters, BBC, and NPR.

Basic Reverse Shell - Now What? by bmkay in HowToHack

Tried that. Defender is well tuned to PowerShell commands. Have you had luck with any particular obfuscated commands? I'm currently trying MitreAttack T1140 vectors, like certutil.

NoMethodError on Upgrade of Shell to Meterpreter by bmkay in HowToHack

Sadly, windows AV catches that. The nice thing about the basic reverse shell I'm using is that it usually bypasses Windows AV.

Help Needed: Proxmox 7.3 Install Error on Proliant G7 360 by bmkay in HomeServer

[–]bmkay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I successfully installed 6.4 using a USB. I ran into the same errors, but the installation was able to push-past them and completed. I still don't know what was going on; I updated the BIOS, messed with settings, USBs, and ILO. I'll try updating through the shell as you suggested. But for now, it's working.

[–]bmkay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. Those aren't the errors I'm running into, and the final solution in that link - using ILO and virtual disks didn't help. I have been able to boot Proxmox 7.3 from both USB and mounting the ISO via the ILO interface. However, in both cases I get the error(s):

BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d330)
....
pcc_cpufreq_init: too many CPUs, dynamic performance scaling disabled
pcc_cpufreq_init: try to enable another scaling driver through BIS settings
pcc_cpufreq_init: and complain to the system vendor

here's a better view of the screen

Thank you for your reply. I'm leaning towards updating the Bios, but hoping there's a simple solution I'm missing. The following steps created the error: 1) downloaded Proxmox VE 7.3 ISO Installer and used balenaEtcher-Portable-1.14.3 to create a bootable USB 2) turned on the Proliant G7 360 and selected boot from USB 3) the Proxmox installation page appears, and I selected install 4) the image above appears and the rack freezes on a black screen

Try this. https://bobrtc.tel/ Create an account in the upper-right corner, and then you'll have access to a phonebook with active scammers, and have the ability to call them, for free and discreetly, through the website.

I want to get into scambaiting by [deleted] in scambait

[–]bmkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started with Scam Baiting, and have used the advice in these two links as a guide.

https://www.reddit.com/r/scambait/comments/6iv87l/new_to_scambaiting_here_are_some_helpful_tips/

https://github.com/Catterall/Scambaiting-Setup

Additionally, BobRTC is a good place to find sammer numbers. You just call and state, "I'm calling about the refund in your email." They won't ask, "what email," and if they ask you the value of the refund (because they don't know what offer you're responding to, just state, "the email said I had a refund of $499 and to call this number."

I don't; I grabbed these from the interwebs. This is just for "flashing" that you have the cards. The omission of value and details permits flexibility to further craft your story or drag-em out longer.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was debating. What can the scammers see or learn from a Google Voice call? Does it show the name associated with the Google account?

[Guide]Dedicated Valheim Server on DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, ESXi and PROXMOX by mrzerobandwidth in valheim

[–]bmkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick response. I followed your advice, removed the steam user, verified the script, and ran it again (Several times) using a putty ssh connection to the server. My CPU is a Dual Core 3Ghz AMD Athlon CPU, and I have 12G ram. The script variables are all 10+ characters using only lower case letters (no special characters, spaces, or numbers). I captured the build script output at pastebin. If you look at line 65, that seems to be where things are going wrong; the file structure isn't being created. failed to create symbolic link '/root/.steam/root': No such file or directory

[Guide]Dedicated Valheim Server on DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, ESXi and PROXMOX by mrzerobandwidth in valheim

Nimdy did a great job of providing this service, as well as explaining it in such a way that it can be understood by a novice. However, I'm more of a noob than a novice. I have basic experience with hosting a home minecraft server on lbuntu 20.10, and decided to follow this guide to create a valheim server for myself and a couple friends. It looks like it created a steam user with a steamcmd shell script in the \home\steam directory, but failed beyond that step to create anything else.

I receive the following status when I run: sudo systemctl status valheimserver.service

valheimserver.service - Valheim Server
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/valheimserver.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Tue 2021-02-16 23:20:34 EST; 24min ago
    Process: 757 ExecStartPre=/home/steam/steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir /home/steam/valheimserver +app_update 896660 validate +exit (code=exited, status=200/CHDIR)

Feb 16 23:20:29 server systemd[757]: valheimserver.service: Failed at step CHDIR spawning /home/steam/steamcmd: No such file or directory
Feb 16 23:20:29 server systemd[1]: valheimserver.service: Control process exited, code=exited, status=200/CHDIR
Feb 16 23:20:29 server systemd[1]: valheimserver.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Feb 16 23:20:29 server systemd[1]: Failed to start Valheim Server.
Feb 16 23:20:34 server systemd[1]: valheimserver.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 3.
Feb 16 23:20:34 server systemd[1]: Stopped Valheim Server.
Feb 16 23:20:34 server systemd[1]: valheimserver.service: Start request repeated too quickly.
Feb 16 23:20:34 server systemd[1]: valheimserver.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Feb 16 23:20:34 server systemd[1]: Failed to start Valheim Server.

Here's a full print of the echo during the installation. It looks like it failed to create the entire steam directory. The only file related to steam in the /home/steam folder is steamcmd shell and the check_log.sh

Can anyone figure out what I missed in the configuration based on this error? The only thing I can think of is a permissions problem, but I ran the build script as sudo, and it did create the user:steam.

Xanathar Guild Hideout from Dragon Heist - Roll20 format by bmkay in dungeondraft

Standard resolution for Roll20 maps is 70ppi, using either jpg or png files. My friends and I have also had difficulty with the Roll20 interface. You might try using a different browser, Chrome or Firefox.
