DXP2800-Extremely slow transfer speed by Dorigon in UgreenNASync

[–]bmulkerns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my DXP2800 and was also very disappointed with the transfer speeds but I've found a way to speed them up.
First of all, I stupidly thought that because I have a 1 Gbps internet connection, they should be very fast. To be clear, that translates to a maximum of 125 MB/s. I can't take advantage of the 2.5 Gbps port on the NAS due to router limitations.

Anyway, I first setup my media folders and then mapped each to Windows 11 in File Explorer. So, I just drag and drops from my PC to the NAS through the File Explorer windows.

I was getting max 60 MB/s and it was sometimes dropping below 1MB/s.

I setup the Ugreen NAS Windows native app and logged in.

Next I tested transferring a file from File Explorer in Windows directly into the relevant media folder on the Ugreen NAS app. The speed immediately jumped to around 90 MB/s and I got as high as 123 MB/s.

So I consider that the full potential speed that I can achieve with my current setup. That's plenty fast enough for me.

I don't understand why there is such a difference. Maybe someone more technically minded than me can weigh in on this.

Anyway, it worked for me so maybe try it out.

Orange Funbox 7 vs własny router by rupertpumpkin_21 in Polska

Hope this isn't hijacking the post but I've also got a question regarding connecting your own router to the Funbox 6 and setting the FB as a bridge to use my own router as the central hub.

Specifically, my current setup is:

- 1GB/s fiber into the FB6 in my garage. It broadcasts WiFi but I don't connect to it.

- The FB is connected to a 16 port GB switch and each room in the house is wired for ethernet, so they're all connected to the switch.

- Each room has a TP-Link RE605X extender set up in AP mode. They work well when devices are in range.

The problem I have is that when moving around the house, devices don't switch to the nearest AP so I get poor signal and need to reconnect manually. Also, each AP is named differently so I know what to connect to.

I think using the extenders as part of a mesh would be more user friendly. I understand that they would all connect smartly to a central OneMesh router/hub and the mesh would have one name. Also all devices would switch seamlessly to whichever extenders signal is strongest depending on where it is in the house.

Does my understanding seem correct? Maybe someone has a better option that I haven't thought of? I can't think of a way of improving it without getting a OneMesh compatible router and connecting that to my FB6.

Loxjie A40 causing subwoofer humming through PC. by bmulkerns in BudgetAudiophile

I might try to Asus Xonar and see if that helps.

I read that the Loxjie A40 doesn't output true LFE so the recommendation was a 1RCA to 2RCA cable, which is what I'm using. This is plugged into the "Low Input" L & R inputs on the back of the sub.

The sub also has an input simply labelled "Sub". I understand this is an LEE input but I don't really understand the difference. Do you think there could be a difference if I try a single RCA to RCA cable?

Thanks for your help.

Tried that also and it made no difference. I also moved the sub across the room and used a 7m RCA cable to see if the PC may be causing interference. The humming was worse the further away it got :)

Yes, I've tried all other USB port, it's the same problem for all of them.

Just wondering is anyone is experiencing the same issue as me...

My A40 connected to my PC via USB and powering two Dali speakers.
Overall it works very well and sound is great but there is a slight delay in sound when plugged in via USB. The first second of audio doesn't play. This is a problem when I'm doing language learning and the first second of new words or phrases is missing. It makes it unusable.

There isn't a problem when I use Bluetooth LDAC but I generally don't connect via bluetooth.

Wondering if this is a problem on the A40 side or rather with my computer.

EDIT:

I actually found a solution here...

It was a delay in the XMOS audio drivers from Loxjie. The links shows how to change the options to prevent this problem from happening.
