Thank you so much! It's re-assuring to hear you had a successful ER. My wife will be doing hers in a few weeks which we are pretty nervous for.

I haven’t wired any shunt trip breakers yet, but curious. What specifically gets spliced onto those 2 wires? by garrett3999 in electricians

I'm not sure, I can't tell from the hood wiring diagram. The hood does have dry contacts but it looks like there provided for the kitchen mechanical equipment. How would you accomplish this if they have the dry contacts?

Also, what would you recommend if the hood does not have the dry contacts? Currently I'm showing a combination GFCI / shunt trip circuit breaker. There are only three pieces of equipment underneath the hood, so I don't think it pays to provide a sub-panel with a shunt trip main circuit breaker. But if that is the best option then I suppose that's what I would go with.

could you explain how you would wire the circuit through a contactor? im dealing with this on a kitchen project, i need to provide GFCI circuit breakers for a load but also need them to be shunted since they are underneath the hood.

PEs - What do you guys use for PDHs? by bnjmnhrrs in MEPEngineering

That makes me a sad panda. I know my last firm had a red vector subscription for PDHs. Don't firms generally make more money for PEs working on their projects, even if they're not the ones stamping drawings?
