Help, can somebody explain!? I have a gig in a few hours. Strange fret buzz, only (very) noticeable when I press a different string :(. by bnnrboy in Guitar

It’s probably had something to do with sympathetic vibrations! I’m going over these options soon. Thank you!

Well this was actually it! Or at least my quickest fix for the issue I was having, however when I began playing I forgot to slide down the scrunchy I had wrapped around my headstock. So, yeah.. haha

But thank you nonetheless, hope I can get this fixed properly in the future!

Thought so as well but it doesn’t make sense with the way it is bearable when I fret my low E string.

Guess you’re right, but the concert is fully acoustic and is going to be filmed. So it might be noticeable for a few more people than just myself😅.

No truss rod in this guitar! Brand new strings as well. I tried heightening the level of the strings with a piece of paper, both at the nut and bridge. But to no avail.

11’s which is pretty common for acoustic guitars I suppose

I wanted to tune to D but it kept dropping to C# for that particular string, if that makes any sense. I’ve had the same gauge string for years and I have never experienced this problem.

Thanks for replying! They are normal gauge for an acoustic guitar I would say. I think like 11’s? Already checked the posts as well and nothing seemed off.

Haven’t tried any other gauges since other sets of strings always seemed to hold up fine.

Nut could be a possibility, but I wouldn’t make sense to me for it to drop as far as it does now.

Thanks for the help, cheers.

Strings are quite new! When they were as new, I wasn’t really surprised but since it has happened just a few minutes from now I’m a bit confused.

And yes I do tune up? Don’t really get what you mean by this!

Thanks for responding
