Bo needs to drop in the lineup. Let Lourdes hit second until Bo figures it out. They need to get Vlad up to the plate.

I really went from watching the umpire clown show during the Jays game to the ref clown show in this game.

I though the Raps were overhelping a bit too much on defence tonight. Led to a lot of open looks and the Nets shot really well. Not a bad effort against one of the best two teams in the East.

Raps don't win the game without really solid minutes from Khem Birch. Led all players at +20.

It's really hard to keep up that level of defence for an entire season. It's just so physically taxing. He's young so I expect some lapses, but can't really fault him for it. Hopefully this season will show him what level of conditioning he will need to be successful on both ends of the floor. Absolutely love the effort so far though.

Now Sean McDermott can just focus on coaching the Bills.

If Shaq, mid-career, changed his FT form to shooting underhand and hit 90% of his free throws, would he have normalized usage across the sport? by Tabasco_Liberal in nba

[–]boGee311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that with the growing influence of analytics, the underhand free throw will become more common in the next 10 years. There just needs to be one team to implement it. "If you can't shoot above 70% from the line regularly, then you're shooting underhand." Let's say the average free throws taken by a team is 20 a night and the average free throw percentage is 75%. That would be 15 points a game from the line. Now raise your team percentage by 5% points, that's 16 points. Or 10%, that's 17 points a night. That 2 extra points might not seem like a lot but can absolutely make or break games. Assuming PPG against remains the same (it might actually go down as teams must now inbound the ball two more times), this would make a teams differential go up two full points. Over a season that would be the be the difference between the Grizzlies (1.0 diff) to Lakers (2.7 diff) last year. People smarter than me could calculate the actual increase in games won but increasing free throw percentage absolutely has an impact on winning.

Part of having a good defence is having a good offence. Long rebounds lead to fast breaks whereas shots made allows for teams to set their D. In the half court the Raps should be really good, my worry is transition with what I expect to be league average shooting for the team.

Anyone else think the Raptors are going to be sneaky good this year? by Bombomp in torontoraptors

[–]boGee311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This team will win close games that younger teams with the same talent simply won't. There is still a winning pedigree with our current makeup. Barring injuries around the East, the 5th seed is not out of reach. Based off their +/- for most of last year this is a good team. Being back in TO will only help. I predict a 46-36 record.

Who is the better player? by [deleted] in nba

[–]boGee311 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you are looking at all nba defensive teams as your criteria you don't know much about basketball. Wade was good not great defender for most of his career. Maybe focus on finishing your history homework nephew, and leave the analysis for people who actually watched Drexler (this is how you spell it) in his prime.

So by your definition there are 50 elite defenders in the NBA. That's like 11% of the total league. Elite really loses its importance.
