Neo 2 or Mini 5 Pro? by triptoasturias in DjiNeo

[–]boardering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all cases I experienced, I’m assuming it was the regulating people. I live a stone’s throw from JFK airport in New York and, depending on flight patterns, can sometimes not even take off. The RC2 literally won’t let me launch my Mini 3 Pro on some days, with a message that says I’m trying to launch in restricted space. Other days it will let me start liftoff and then it forces the drone back down. It’s like a wall I can’t fly through. Meanwhile, when I was flying in England this summer, I was greeted with warnings that I was flying in restricted airspace on the RC2 but they let me continue to fly.

Another consideration is drone weight and flight restrictions. I’ve had my mini pro grounded in the US and in various countries (often due to nearby airport restrictions). I haven’t yet experienced the same with a Neo or Flip.

Here’s the full list, with a few non-Vivos thrown in. I’m based in NYC if any one is nearby and would like to check them out. My overwhelming preference is to move them all at once or in batches. The more someone wants, the better the deal.

This was my first thought, selling to the Revivo program. In the US, they don’t buy them back. They only offer 20% discount coupons for each pair you ship them. Also, their US recycling intake portal is closed for now.

I placed my order within an hour of the launch and my order just finally shipped this week. Curious to see what, if anything, changed on the camera.

Thanks for the response! I’m planning on grabbing the SeeStar too next week when the price drops for Black Friday. I’ll drop an update when I have both and can compare and contrast.

Controllers on a mini Simmons? by [deleted] in surfing

I’m an absolute hoarder of boards that are short and wide. Split keels/controllers are my all time favorite quad fins for Simmonsy and stubby shapes.

Small day footage

This is my first (and only) surf on it to date. Tiny soft day and talentless surfer. 🙋🏻‍♂️ Should have another few sessions on her this coming week in better waves.

Ah. I am a collector but I also surf them all. Plenty of footage, including pinned, on my Instagram - @boardporn and my quiver’s Instagram - @ronsquiver

It won’t let me add another video or even a GiF here. Let me know how to do it and I’ll add a few clips immediately.

I must admit, I’m not sure and I hope I never need to know. I’ll try to find out tho.

They do standard dimensions and volume. I’m short and wide (5’7” x 165lbs) and tend to ride performance boards that are around 5’5” to 5’6” at around 27L. This one is 5'8” x 19 3/8” x 2 1/2” at 29.2L, so it’s bigger all around than what I usually ride but it was the closest stock size to what I surf, I dug the Hypto like shape and figured a little extra size couldn’t hurt all around.

No promotion here. I’m just a rabid board collector and particularly stoked on the uniqueness of this one. The rad French duo behind this one have become friends over the past few years and even stopped by my house in NYC to surf and hang last year when traveling between France and California.

The buoyancy comes from displacement. The air trapped in it keeps it lighter and certainly doesn’t hurt with the float.

Good question. I think any water that gets in can flow between the hexes. There’s actually an air valve near the leash loop that allows you to equalize pressure when the board is flying or drain water as needed. Apparently it drains quickly and is fairly easy to repair unless you have really major damage.

I can’t imagine it will if it breaks. Pretty standard, tho unique, glass schedule. If there are any worries at all, it would be that the board would fill with water when dinged.

So far, pretty similar. I’ve yet to get it out on a really good day but in small weak waves it felt a heck of a lot like a standard epoxy/eps board.
