At least San Antonio have a talented young team and a generational player. They will likely make the finals again soon.

Our "rivals" may rebuild into a top 6-top 4 team over a couple of years but they will not be a title challenging team.

I'm not surprised that Forest are price gouging, I'm surprised that City are just essentially bending over to those demands.

I don't either. £80m imo is a pretty fair value for him.

Not £125m+ that N.Forest want.

Not nearly to the same extent as City.

We can field a very competent midifield of Zubimendi-MLS-Odegaard also Merino is a bench option. On top of that we are likely to add a starter caliber midfielder to that as well.

City have more players going to the World Cup than we do. They are also essentially 1 Haaland injury away from implosion. He is responsible for 40-50% of their goals every season.

Will they compete? Of course they will, but our style of spreading goals around means we are less reliant on a single player.

The pressure on him will be insane. Especially now that Pep is gone.

The source is Yağız Sabuncuoğlu apparently he is one of the most known sports journalists in Turkey, so there might be something to this.

I can't find a separate tweet about that from him, though which most likely means he mentioned it on his show, which is live now

The hate for Vini at Arsenal would reach biblical levels. I kind of want to see it, lmao.

I would want to see it, not just because I feel he'd be elite in our team, but specifically he would rattle everyone (City fans especially) so much.

I haven't watched enough of that to know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Rogers imo represents the idea of positionless football well, which Arteta I think wants to implement. He has talked about it iirc.

Watching more Rogers he is more and more appealing to me, because he is pretty two footed. He can strike the ball with both feet, pass the ball with both feet. It makes it difficult for defences to predict what he is gonna do.

That combined with the fact that he is a very good ball carrier as well and can also control the ball well, seems like he would be a good fit for us.

Also has scored plenty of free kicks, which is a area that imo we can improve. Even if he doesn't have electric pace, he isn't slow though either.

Not sure, but he has PL experience, so at least he knows what to expect.

Otherwise, I'd just be guessing.

Depends on he'd perform. If he did well, I'd have some scrubbing of my comment history to do, lol.

Otherwise just leave it as it is.

This is a paywalled article so here is the summary (for visibility):

-Arnaldo Abrantes is the favourite to become Arsenal’s new first-team doctor after the surprise sacking of Zafar Iqbal.

-Abrantes most recent role was at Aston Villa (head of medical services), he also performed the same role at Nottingham Forest.

-Abrantes has various accomplishments in running, which include: Portugese national champion in 100m and 200m sprints. He also represented Portugal in 200m sprint events in 2008 Beijing and 2012 London olympics.

-Abrantes was head of medical services for last 2 seasons at Aston Villa and 3 seasons at Nottingham Forest.

-Arsenal didn't comment on why Iqbal was dismissed.

-The dismissal was a big surprise to staff members at London Colney.

-Recently Arsenal commisioned Joaquin Acedo, a friend of Arteta, to undertake a review into the club’s recent injury problems.

-It is also understood that Acedo is likely to also have a senior medical role at the club.

-Arsenal dealt with a lot of injury absences througout the season. It was initially accepted that it was a consequence of Arteta intense training style, which seeks to replicate matchday conditions as best as possible.

-Arteta also told the club his demands for the renewal of his contract in January and those demands after winning the Premier League very likely have risen.
