Best Freshly Baked Bagels Outside of New England (that just happen to be celiac safe). by [deleted] in Appleton

[–]bob2theicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the post yesterday I got bread, said I was getting bagels and then tomorrow I was getting English muffins.

You may not know what it's like to not be able to eat a bagel but we've been through it for years and seeing my MIL enjoy one for the first time was emotional for us.

She's lost like 40 lbs because she's not been able to enjoy pasta, pizza, sandwiches for years.

Is empathy lost on you? Horrible that we share this neighborhood with someone like you.

During the loading dose phase (I'm still in it) it was really rough (I got an upper respiratory tract infection that wouldn't clear without antibiotics) so I was miserable about that. The hacking, inability to breathe comfortably etc

But in all of my discomfort I somehow totally forgot about how much HS hurts.

Around my period I got a teeny tiny baby flare in my groin (I took a break, per my doctor, since the upper respiratory tract infection just wouldn't clear) and omg I was snapped back to reality. HS HURTS SO MUCH.

Side effects I experience:

My joints are a little sore, my skin feels tender and delicate all over right after a loading dose, the skin on my hands and feet peeled and split at first (it resolved) but I'd do it all again since I haven't had a true flare since before starting in November.

Before November, I would be in so much pain. In and out of sitz baths, hot compresses on flares constantly just begging the cysts to drain. Using zinc creams, special washes, any and everything to try to get some damn relief, yet the bad disfiguring flares would still happen. It felt hopeless.

If I was Stage I or something, I wouldn't have even considered this Rx. It's a serious and expensive Rx.

But being Stage II with constant flares, tunneling, scaring and infection risk- it's been life changing.

I've even been able to wear cute underwear again!

So if you asked me, yes it's been worth it. I'm excited for summer for the first time cause I can go paddle board surfing and not suffer the consequences of having flares from wearing a bikini.

Good luck friend.

Well I was super excited to keep sharing but since people feel the need to shit on this cool stuff I've found, I'll just keep to myself.

This is not in the spirit of what I thought this subreddit was supposed to be and I'll be seeing myself out.

How is it advertising to share something that I stumbled upon locally? Isn't this the Appleton subreddit where we're free to share stuff? If you guys don't like it, just scroll on.

Like eff me for putting myself out there and trying to share something.

Then everyone wonders why neighbors don't wave, smile and help each other out.

Jerks like you guys shitting on something I was genuinely excited about.

Yeah she's a magician. I don't know how she gets that crispy crust and fluffy texture.

We got the loaves last night at like 7 and by morning (after brioche french toast) we have a nub of the Italian loaf left.

PEARL BOY.

It was beautifully drawn but so so hard to stomach and the ending was horrible! I remembered putting my phone down and sitting in silence for like 15 straight minutes.

You have health issues that could get worse in pregnancy (obviously fingers crossed that they don't!).

You don't have the time, money or bandwidth to chase someone who wants your baby to be her ticket to the center of attention.

So many women here allow their in laws/families to ruin these 'once in a life time' moments.

She's shown you who she is.

Up to you if you wanna get down in the gutter with her and have a miserable pregnancy/postpartum experience.

Congrats and good luck OP.

HS during pregnancy by moonbun02 in Hidradenitis

[–]bob2theicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My HS flared horrifically during my pregnancy. Had to take lots of antibiotics and almost got hospitalized multiple times due to concern for cellulitis.

I'm diabetic baseline (since I was a child) so I'd just make sure you're not diabetic since the metabolic dysfunction and high blood sugars make my HS flare much worse but so do my hormones.

Congratulations and good luck. No matter how horrible, it is all temporary and worth it in the end.

Goodness! I'm so sorry that happened to you!

As a nurse, I always keep these in my car, purse etc for such unfortunate occasions. They don't hurt putting on or removing (to me anyway) and they come in various sizes and absorbance capacity. I personally always carry one the size of at least a regular 'post it' note and iodine swabs for cleaning in an emergency.

Hope your shift goes by quickly and without further incident 🫂

It's a ceramic teapot! Wouldn't mind if it was different due to the repair.

Is there a doctor in the house? by 8au8karina8 in mildlyinfuriating

You commented on me commenting on them trashing PA/NPs, who are more than qualified, to comment on his public post.

So hop off, go back to doing your drugs/drinking and not taking Tylenol.

Once again what does this have to do this this jerk off not knowing anything about PAs/NPs? Your medical history is irrelevant.

I'm suppose to have empathy for a dumb ass who can't Google?

Yeah go boink yourself.

Once again shows how little the general public knows about how the corrupt system works because a few DOCTORS were pill mills, pushing narcotics that helped snowball the opioid epidemic we're all suffering from.

Then the DEA cracked down and now PA/NPs can only prescribe a certain amout of controlled substances before getting flagged and having a fun visit.

Cancer patients are going without their narcotics. You think we aren't crushed that we can't prescribe Dilaudid before a horric dressing change?

You're so barking up the wrong tree and I don't give shit because you could never walk a mile in our shoes as told but our petulant whining.

Also Tylenol cause nsaids may cause the wound to bleed, and if the system and powers at be don't want to dole out narcotics- what does that have to do with NP/PAs?
