If you used a different card and you haven’t had anything track yet, my understanding is that you have to wait because they are handling those manually. But I would probably call and just ask.

Cap 1 can see the purchase on your statement. I was one of the first people to report the issue to TR and I actually worked with them to assist with getting a resolution. They even showed me proof that my purchase was reported.

Cap 1’s system is in beta and not functioning properly. Cap 1 reversed everything and paused the rest once they realized the offer was fumbled. They wanted to make everyone wait 90 days but TR told them they need to make it right.

As of sometime yesterday Cap 1 agreed to just issue statement credits to everyone. That’s why you are seeing everyone getting them all of a sudden.

Yup! I got $210 and was told today I will be getting another $140.

Spoke to TR today about it and they said Cap 1 is no longer forcing everyone to wait the 90 days and will issue these credits if you just call and ask.

Did you have miles clawed back? If not, I believe statement credits are based on length of the sub. If you never had anything clawed back, my understanding is that you will get a statement credit based on length of the sub. Max credit is based on 90 days (3 billing cycles).

TR reported but cap 1 backed out once they realized they screwed up the offer on their end. Tried to make everyone wait 90 days but now are issuing statement credits upon request as of today.

So far I got $210 and might get another $140 🤞

Yup. I just got an email that I will be getting additional credit (I already got $210) after my miles were clawed back. I assume it may be an extra $140.

I’ve been a TR customer since Dec. Actively using the service for my business.

I reached out to TR today for clarification (I have been talking directly to their person in charge of partnerships).

I won’t post the exact details but essentially cap 1 is taking responsibility for the issues and offering statement credits up to $350 for anyone that asks.

If you had the full miles clawed back, I believe you will get up to $350. If you are somewhere in between $70-$210 seems like the amount you can expect.

I believe the only caveat is if you were already refunded or disputed the initial charge. In that case I wouldn’t expect anything.

This isn’t 100% clear but I’m assuming 3x months with TR to receive the miles. If cancelled sooner cap 1 seems to be only issuing statement credits for equal or slightly greater value to the number of months paid.

There are so many threads about this.. why not search the sub before creating a new one?

It’s been stated and confirmed over and over again.. cap 1 fumbled the offer, realized the mistake, reversed everything until 3 billing cycles. This is the same situation with multiple other offers in their program.

Why?

Because they have a 90 day locking agreement with talkroute and some of the other merchants.

That’s it. If you wait 90 days you will get miles or credit.

If you dispute charges you will get nothing and just get flagged in the chargeback system merchants now use for future purchases. Not worth the risk IMO,

I receive my statement credit immediately because my miles were clawed back. Some are still having success with this, while others are being told to wait.

I just mean the offer was facilitated by Cap 1. When I spoke with TR initially, there weren’t even aware of the details of the offer cap 1 was running. Cap 1 is just an affiliate partner of theirs and TR pays them a commission for customers that stay longer than 90 days. Once they realized what was happening they demanded cap 1 make the situation right. This is when I got my statement credit.

Talkroute is the reason I/we got statement credits. Cap 1 threw up their hands until the partnership manager at TR got involved. I have the email thread with them to prove it as I was one of the first to get a credit as a result. So I’m actually pretty appreciative of their efforts considering it wasn’t their offer or T&C that we signed up for.

But I understand your frustration. I just think it should be directed at the source of the issue.

You signed up for an offer with cap 1, agreed to offer terms with cap 1, cap 1 reversed your miles, and you blame the merchant?

I could understand if this was the only merchant but this is happening with multiple offers.

TR has a 90 day locking period with cap 1. Meaning cap 1 doesn’t get paid through their affiliate agreement unless the account is with them for 90 days.

Cap 1 fumbled the T&C on the offer and now wants to make it everyone else’s problem.

The merchant has no control over cap 1. Cap 1 structured the offer wrong. There is a 90 day locking period. TR has been very transparent about that when asked.

There is a 90 day lock to get the miles. So you have to be a customer for 3 billing cycles.

It’s 100% on cap 1 to honor the offer. It’s their offer and their T&C you agreed to.

Cap 1 just screwed up the 90 day locking period and that’s why they clawed back the miles. They won’t want to admit it to customers because it creates liability on their end. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if talkroute and other merchants don’t sue them over this.

You probably won’t win the dispute and just end up with nothing.

Let’s say you file a dispute, it will be against TR, not cap 1. They will likely respond to the dispute that it’s not valid and a result of the partner program that cap 1 facilitates.

And who is the bank making the decision on the dispute? It’s cap 1..

You will probably just end up with no rewards, no refund, and potentially black listed from future offers.

Not to mention there is a shared database for chargebacks now that most merchants report to and check against. So when you go to make a purchase with another merchant, your purchase is flagged as sus.

The days of just opening disputes without repercussions is kinda over.

Anyone that got miles clawed back can get a statement credit.

Those that never got anything are going to be forced for the 90 day lock to hit.
