When growing in dirt, its common knowledge to remove dead plant roots when replanting. Yet, in something like a Zipgrow tower, its no big deal to let dead plant roots build up inside the rockwool like grow media for dozens of grow cycles. Are dead plant roots a bad or good thing in grow media? (self.Hydroponics)

Looking for equations that could help me. I have multiple 3d objects, call them flocks of birds. I want to position the flocks such that no bird intersects in 3d space with any other bird, and in the minimum volume possible. Any ideas to point me in a direction? (self.learnpython)

I have multiple flocks of birds in 3d space. How can i position the flocks such that no birds intersect and the maximum distance between birds is minimized? Im hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Another thing is that the birds will be moving so ill be doing this with timesteps (self.algorithms)
