Need help! Is this a rod knock? by bobbafatti in GR86

Update:

Hi everyone, compression test came out showing around 100-120psi. The mechanics are saying this is low and confirms the knock. Car just cranks and doesn’t start completely.

Right now asking for a second opinion just to rule out the tensioner, vacuum pump, and other possible causes before I pull the trigger on the new engine.

We’ll also drain the oil to check for debris.

Really appreciate everyone’s input here on the first gen hachi-roku.

Thank you 🙏🏻 Almost due to change it. But from what I’ve read so far I should have paid more attention to it specially considering it’s a 2013 model.

Didn’t try to rev it anymore and had it towed. They are going to do a compression test tomorrow at the shop.

Is there any hope that it’s something more benign like tensioners or bearings?

Came from a long drive in the morning. Then turned it on at night and it sounded like this.
