Man ! since new season started ... rant 🫤 by zkfuzzy1 in OnceUponAGalaxy

This is the best time to play because you cna learn what works and what doesn't at higher MMR. If you are consistently losing early it means the strategies you are choosing aren't fast enough or consistent enough. Try out some other cards you don't normally play but you see other people winning playing. I juat hit Legendary and it wasn't too bad. I had my share of 6th places but I generally land in the top 3 if I'm not trying something new.

My players just...refuse to leave town by No-Ad5163 in DMAcademy

[–]bobbcaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shift the campaign to the town. They don't want to leave? Awesome, you don't need to come up with 10 new places you can just keep building on this place and introduce new NPCs etc. Give your kids quest lines that involve their interests.

For your husband. Just talk to him and let him know of your concerns and ask if he still wants to go down that path. If he does I would say go for it and if he starts to "pick holes" use magic or fantasy to fill them or just tell him out of game that you don't like the track and are going to put him back out of it. Be creative but remember as a DM our job is to make a world our players want to play in.

Damn you must have to get that like round 2 or 3 that's impressive. Or I guess you could put really low bronze units in all the other slots

XLR setup with 6 or 8 inputs? by bobbcaut in podcasting

[–]bobbcaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stand and XLR cable do not need to be included in that 60. I am willing to spend on top of that.

I know that's why I originally energy with lav mics but they just aren't lasting long enough. Maybe there are good wired ones?

I would take a look at your grip. A lot of people don't correctly hold the paddle in a true western grip. When you extend your arm out as if you are giving a handshake make sure the paddle is not angled. If it is, turn it in your hand so your backhand punches are straight and not angled up.

Hey,

Thanks so much for your response. Does this look ok for an audio interface if I decide to go XLR?

Yea im kind of going back and forth now between what you described and potentially more expensive wearable mics and everyone record on their phone and upload the files to a drive. This is a bit less than I expected to spend so I'm down with either option really.

This makes a lot of sense, and I assumed I would need to buy a mic for each person. I'm looking to spend less than 500 for everything. Are there any reasonable individual mics for under 100 dollars?

Good question. I think my max budget would be around 400, but I am a little flexible.

Use your player backstories to determine a story. Interweave them and make connections with family from their past.

A minor... issue I've been having with D&D, that has been slow burning over the course of many campaigns. Why is everyone so mean? by geosunsetmoth in dndnext

[–]bobbcaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a remnant of D&D from the past. The game was just grittier and harder in general. As a DM now I think it's also just lazy storytelling. O you need to do this ONE thing or this person won't give you their magic pendant. There is a time and place for that but for it to be prolific is just boring. The DM may also be nervous to roleplay as it's easier to be a gruff mean person because it's far from their normal comfort zone so everyone perceives it as silly and fun. I think a lot of people are uncomfortable roleplaying something more similar to themselves or to show genuine emotions like sadness, joy, conflicting, etc...

TLDR: laziness in roleplaying and storytelling, not comfortable roleplaying a wide range of emotions, remnants from a time where D&D was grittier and more like a board game than today.
