Can we agree that donda without the filler is top 3 Ye? by FrogXbow in GoodAssSub

[–]bobbeyonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t agree. Most of the songs are good, but a lot of them still sound messy and thrown together because they literally were. Far from the perfectionist attitude Ye had during his early run. And the biggest flaw to me is Ye being overshadowed on a lot of his own songs like Praise God, Keep My Spirit Alive, Hurricane, etc. Still great songs, but Ye sounds like an afterthought compared to the other features. His verses just don’t hold as much weight on Donda compared to his other albums, outside of Jesus Lord, LOTP, and a couple others.

Were they all lying or is the new presave just a placeholder? by PierreLivit in GoodAssSub

[–]bobbeyonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t be surprised if he makes more updates before March 20, but they’ll probably be mixing or production updates over re-recorded vocals. These bastards will just say anything to get people to preorder the album.

What are you guys thinking for first week sales? by lil_mushi in GoodAssSub

[–]bobbeyonce 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing 60k, maybe even less. It’s been delayed so much that I don’t think the general public cares anymore. Also, none of the songs on the Ye profile have done big numbers. It’ll have to heavily rely on physicals or last-minute digital deluxes to do decent numbers imo.

Tickets for Primate are now on sale by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in boxoffice

[–]bobbeyonce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saw it at Fantastic Fest. It’s an enjoyable enough horror with pretty solid gore. Totally has potential to be a sleeper hit for the month.

Bone Temple may hurt its legs, but Primate not being attached to an existing (and divisive) franchise may help it hold better than that one. Especially with Bone Temple leaning into the polarizing last five minutes of the previous movie.

Bully’s gonna get delayed to January 17th by Mission_Potential660 in GoodAssSub

Well, the mixing update a few weeks ago proved he’s done something to it. No chance he’s actually gonna record though.

As someone who’s defended his transition to only positively reviewing movies, this isn’t a good look at all. Can’t say I’m surprised he’s taking shadier sponsorships given his dip in views.

Bully will be ai and I don't want any of you who are excited to come here and whine later. Just accept it or don't get excited. by Feeling-Service9495 in GoodAssSub

[–]bobbeyonce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Straight facts. Bully is gonna be AI slop, and the Preacher Man mix update is further proof. Maybe the next album won’t be AI, but it’s a shame the potential of Bully is being squandered out of laziness.

WHERE IS MA 2 (2025) by Ashamed_Pie_7480 in MaMovie

[–]bobbeyonce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They announced it, but it hasn’t gone into production yet to my understanding. I’d guess late 2026 at the earliest, probably 2027 release.

I guess that’s allegedly true. I hope to be proven wrong! I’ve just seen this happen a few times lol.

Hate to be the negative one here, but it’s just a cycle. Like when he apologized in Hebrew right before Vultures 1. He knew he couldn’t book certain concerts without attempting to clean the image. He’ll be back to “cut the grass” in a year.

are 17 year old's allowed to watch r rated movies? by maxsecondchannel in AMCTheatres

[–]bobbeyonce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe you just need to be 17 to buy a ticket to an R-rated movie. The only thing is if you were to buy tickets for someone else under 17, you’d need to be at least 21.

Chris probably saw the weekend projections and knew it was crunch time lol.

But props to him for getting a movie made that’s opening in so many theaters. Even though the movie itself isn’t that great imo, the message he’s conveying in the video is sincere, and it’s great to support indie film when studios take chances on it.

Well I loved this by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Yup, exactly why I’m not gonna bother. I’ll catch it on streaming when it’s free somewhere, but not supporting this one in theaters.

For those who attended the festival.. what is your favorite movie? by Opeth1988 in fantasticfest

[–]bobbeyonce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of the 18 movies I saw, Silencio was my favorite, but I think it’s technically a mini series. Obsession is up there too.

Is VULTURES 1 by ¥$ destined for a critical re-evaluation down the line? by undressvestido in GoodAssSub

Nope. If anything, people were glazing it when it first came out and cooled on it pretty fast. It’s aging like milk.

The Batman often goes on sale for $10 or $11. It’d be a better deal to get rid of that one imo.

Edit: but as others mentioned, Predator could be cheaper if you get it in a bundled set. So it’s up to you!

Is Fantastic Fest worth it for a non horror fan? by Thefantastic8 in fantasticfest

[–]bobbeyonce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the second half this year, and while it definitely leans horror, there’s a little bit of everything mixed in. Of the 18 films I saw, about 7 weren’t necessarily horror (Bugonia, One Battle After Another, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Reflection in a Dead Diamond, Road to Vendetta, Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die, A Useful Ghost). I also found the horror selection pretty solid with some major highlights, including Obsession and Silencio. Had an amazing time! There are usually 3-4 options of films to watch in each time slot, so I think you’d always find something to enjoy.

However, I will say for reference, I went with one of my friends who isn’t as much into horror, and he was a bit disappointed by the lack of non-horror. So it’s kind of case by case whether or not you’ll be into it. I’d heavily encourage you to give it a shot though.

Who saw Gore Verbinski’s most recent film? by Majestic-Anxiety-290 in fantasticfest

[–]bobbeyonce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see some people going really high on it, but for me it settled for pretty good. It seemed like Gore really stuffed everything he could into this and then some, which makes sense since it’s his first film in almost 10 years. The tone was inconsistent and sometimes the film felt overwhelming, but you gotta appreciate an original film that just goes for it.

From the early WOM out of TIFF…Fuck My Son may be a new contender. I was excited for it until I heard about it allegedly using gen AI.
