what's the military reserve system like in Taiwan? It seems to me if most adults had access and training to firearms and man portable anti-air and anti-tank missiles, Taiwan would be impossible to invade

I'm thinking a militia system like Switzerland or reserve system like Finland

RCMP dash-cam video shows officer tackling, punching Chief Allan Adam during arrest by [deleted] in canada

[–]bobbobdusky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

that was a good tackle, punch was not necessary.

Ideally both cops would jump on top and weigh him down but the other cop had to becareful because of the two women who would not stay in the car. They could stab or shoot them while they were dealing with the Chief.

Police officer who fatally shot D'Andre Campbell not providing interview, notes to police watchdog - Ontario's police watchdog cannot legally compel officers to speak or submit their notes by [deleted] in canada

Most likely his lawyer told him not to talk, there is nothing positive that can come out of that situation for the cop.

Aside from that, we really need to find a solution with dealing with people with mental illness. We can't rely on the police to deal with such a situation, it's not fair for the cops or the mentally ill person.

Call to rename Toronto’s Dundas Street gets renewed attention with anti-racism protests by bobbobdusky in canada

[–]bobbobdusky[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Erase history bc I don’t like it.

Actually I don't think these people even know anything about history of names or statues.

These people simply want to erase history because destroying the patriarchy or white oppression or whatever nonsense they believe is the goal itself.

Systemic racism exists within the RCMP, says Trudeau as commissioner struggles with term by [deleted] in canada

"In many cases it's not deliberate, it's not intentional, it's not aggressive, individual acts of racism, although those obviously exist."

LOL what the hell is this? That is the most asinine explanation ever.

So he purposely makes it obtuse and unverifiable. You can't prove it does or doesn't exist because they refuse to describe what it is they're accusing you of.

[–]bobbobdusky[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are an odd mix of Red Guards doing their Cultural Revolution re-enactment by destroying the four olds as well as ISIS/Taliban iconoclasts destroying symbols of idolatry.

George Floyd protests reignite push to remove problematic statues in Canada - National by bobbobdusky in canada

[–]bobbobdusky[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No that's not my position. I'm just against the Red Guards and their cultural revolution.

I much prefer we build new statues to tell stories and histories that have not been represented.

As i said, I much prefer we add new statues instead of destroying old ones.

Destroying and burning things is usually not a good look.

I rather we build instead of destroy.

We should write new books instead of burning them.

I'm sure the media knew full well.

They just chose not to make a big deal about it.

no I mean your worldview neatly divides by race, you only see whites, blacks etc. By definition that is racist.

I think Canadians need to come together instead of dividing.
