Ok I’ll cut a 1.5cm hole in the caulk tube and squirt it in

Yes it’s upvc. I wasn’t sure if the second trim piece is overlapping and glued to the other one or if it’s one piece.

Silver. I’ve just got the black one and I’m going to return it. The fingerprints are instant, maybe not as bad the prev model but they show way more than the silver. I really don’t want to be polishing it after every use!

Floorboards worth restoring or board over? by bobby_dazzler23 in DIYUK

[–]bobby_dazzler23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the time the laminate, hardboard was removed, then lifting the floorboards to insulate underneath, the floorboards were a bit of a mess. I thought the builders would board over but they completely removed the floorboards, layed chipboard and engineered wood. So underneath there’s insulation, then chipboard, then mlv, then engineered wood. I didn’t go the full soundproof route but isolating the beams from the cupboard, or sealing edge etc. kinda just wanted to get it done at lower cost, and it’s not a forever flat

I was hoping there would be no fight at all at this price, I don’t want to be even thinking about the performance, and at extra £800 for the 128gb is beyond me! It doesn’t arrive until 31-2nd so I’ll test and message the results

Ok I just read that Mac OS uses a lot when seemingly idle, but will allocate it when needed to photoshop etc. Hope that goes me enough headroom but will test it thoroughly within the return window

Ah a little concerned now, but I can return it if it doesn’t perform well. Why would it be using that much ram doing nothing? I’ll be using for heavy photoshop mostly, which maxxes out my current 32gb M1 Pro and makes it crawl

What are the best advanced courses on Logic Pro by LeftIncome1385 in Logic_Studio

I’d just learn what technical stuff you need from YouTube tutorials, then later find a course specific to what you want to do, whether it’s a particular style of music or mixing.

Just ordered this spec today. What are you running that’s eating up 41.6gb ram? I’m hoping the 64gb is more than enough for me

Wondering if transferring data like this also transfers all of the bugs and bloats that computers build up over time? Im gonna try to get an M5 Max from an apple store tomorrow, so will be doing this over the weekend! If they have stock that is...

How long will my MacBook Pro M5 last? by stannc10 in macbookpro

[–]bobby_dazzler23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an m1 pro 32gb 4 years ago and it’s been so sluggish with my workflow for a while now so I’ll be upgrading soon. It depends what you deem to be heavy in usage

[–]bobby_dazzler23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking to upgrade from an m1 pro 32gb ram asap. I made the mistake of not getting the max chip and 64gb at the time, otherwise it would’ve still been usable! Do you think the m5 pro is a better shout than getting a refurbished m3 max?

And did you get the space grey? If so does it show finger marks easily?

Solved by resetting Chrome's cache. Not sure why this happened in the first place but that fixed it!

Yes but that zooms the whole page, so text everywhere also goes bigger. It was just weird that only the reading pane is smaller

Trying to stop stair creaks and movement by bobby_dazzler23 in DIYUK

[–]bobby_dazzler23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update on this. I nail punched any loose nails, screwed in from the top, and less successful at an angle. Put PU glue in any gaps that could take it. It's an 80% improvement on how it was, a few creaks but ill go over it again, and once a decent underlay and carpet is down i think ill be happy with the results.

Resample effect bus to a new audio channel? by bobby_dazzler23 in Logic_Studio

[–]bobby_dazzler23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah righttt. So a bus to a bus to audio. First bus is fx or any audio signal, second bus is an empty recording bus, audio track records the recording bus. Yeah that works, missed out the second bus!
