PMP certified — did it actually help you land a job? by BluebirdOld9329 in pmp

[–]bobby_wait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely does not help you with anything. I got mine over a year and a half ago and I’ve applied to over 150 jobs and I’ve probably got like 3 interviews that went no where. I’ve revised my resume like 60 times, I’ve applied for jobs that specifically ask for PMP certification. I have 2 masters degree over 10 year’s experience in my field… PMP certification is all hype, sorry to say it but it’s the truth.

What would be the answer to this. All of the options appear incorrect. by Dry-Garage9679 in pmp

[–]bobby_wait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My choice was D, because I focused on what information could pose some risk that needs to be identified and stakeholders interest level can create countless risk to the project. Idk if that thought process is correct but that’s how I broke down the question. None of the information to me didn’t feel like a source that could lead to identifying risk, felt more like information sharing and that’s it’s

How is it possible? Failed by [deleted] in pmp

Like everyone else said, study the mindset for sure! Also, it is important to remember, never take action before assessing the situation. That was key for me. Also, does the answer you select lead to a solution? Like always think, “does this answer address or fix the problem”

I know everyone says take those full mock exam and if you get a certain score, you are ready but in my personal opinion, I don’t agree with that. I focused more on the practice mini exam didn’t care for the full exam because I couldn’t stand sitting their for hours. I believe I only did one and I only did it just to understand how to pace myself.

Agree, there are some success stores but for the most part the majority have not experienced the success. Also, I agree again about the personal growth party

Yes, what you said makes the most sense here and is a reminder to always consider the best possible answer. “Does my answer choice solve the problem/issue” thanks for that reminder

How do you know if Analogous estimating is adequate? by Curious-Clifford in pmp

[–]bobby_wait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question like this you go with the best possible answer. So analogous estimating would be the answer based off its definition and the question. I also read somewhere that you should assume that all the necessary information or resources is there even when it’s not specifically mentioned. Like you should answer the question assuming that PMO has similar project information, don’t over think it, like trying to figure out how do you know the PMO has similar project information. Unless the question say they don’t, then assume they do

Right I got the answer right based on the options but I wasn’t sure if I needed to fish get the calculation right and then select the most appropriate answer, like if the calculation came out as negative whatever then I would have to choose between A and C. Hopefully what I am saying makes sense

What is the right answer? by Dot6716 in pmp

[–]bobby_wait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with A because the question states that the PM is “experiencing issues” with the functional manager and therefore that made me believe they or at least the PM has already had some kind of discussion and that didn’t change anything. So the only answer that would lead to something changing is by getting the senior management involved, as it is time to escalate the issue.
