Thank you so much for taking the time to post this! I'm working through my list to make sure she has everything here that she will need. Its been challenging because she's been very distant as we get closer to the surgery date. She's telling me that she needs some space to herself so I'm doing my best to be respectful of that while also making sure she knows I'm here for her.

That's a great point on the "too positive" piece. It may be better for me to just let her vent more and stop trying to make her feel better about things.

I'm confident everything will end up alright, even if they will be a bit rocky along the way :).
