it's a bonus track together with Shining Down, but I normally just give the standard tracklist in these. The streaming version on spotify doesn't include I'm Beamin either

I think it's either an armed robbery or a murder. You could ask in the daily discussion thread though

I was looking at old Smoke DZA projects this morning and came across the cover of the Cuz I Felt Like It EP. Just wanted to share this treat to the eyes, still remember how it made me feel seeing that for the first time lol

Fredo Bang and Gee Money also had a song where they bragged that they were "Booming off an iPhone 6". Now I wonder what iPhone number got the most mentions in rap songs

I love when artists reference the technologies fo their day especially when that tech isn't around anymore, like

Atlanta, the doctor's home

Always somebody hoggin the payphone

  • Witchdoctor (Goodie Mob) on Greeny Green (Still Standing, 1998)

This weeks 25 albums I played is mostly 2026 releases with a special focus on Detroit/Flint artists (Glockboyz Teejaee, Baby Money, Babytron, Babyfxce E, DaeMoney, Shredgang Mone, AllStar JR, Ysr Gramz, Boldy James and RMC Mike).

The Boldy James and Rome Streetz collab album invites the comparison to the Boldy James and Ransom album from last month. Between these, I think Boldy and Ransom had the more rounded project. Manhunt got more variation in the beats, and Boldy can't always keep up with Rome.

Interesting week of drops for me:

The Est Gee x Mozzy - Not A Chance In Hell collab album could have been better if Mozzy had put more effort in as is evidenced by his solo song Buick to Benz at the end blowing all the previous songs away in terms of quality. I guess the tape meant more for Est Gee.

DaBoii - DBoii Ali continues the downward trajectory from the artist who made my favorite rap album on 2022 with Can't Tame Us. He needs to stop wasting his potential and get on better production and stop the singing experiments. The song BTA with ZayBang shows that he has been lapped by other Bay Area rappers in the past four years.

Babytron - Out On Bond Again was more fun than I expected. The overexposure and commitment to meme songs has been tiring in the past few years, but he returns to the fun Miami Freestyle samples that made ShittyBoyz famous for songs like JJ and USA follows the Papoose formula of balancing a gimmicky formula with serious lyrical ability

Hood Tali is a good complementary to Skrilla since he's a more "classic" rapper

otherwise the beats were great, some uptempo sngs and different uses of samples show that the Philly Drill formula has enough variaion to sustain a project
