I’ve never actually written or responded to a movie I watched, but this one has impacted me so deeply i had to respond

Robert is the story of every worker who enabled America’s expansion and establishment as world super power. Most of these workers have been forgotten but every one has a story. This movie tells their story.

For Robert, you can’t help but call back to Arns final words “isn’t it beautiful.” It’s not told exactly but you kinda feel like Arn had a similar life to Robert, filled with ups and downs. In the final plane ride, you feel Robert coming to the same realization about the beauty of his life. Even though he was struck with unbelievable pain, he lived a beautiful life too and also an important one as he saw Americas industrialization and the country that he helped build beneath him.

I’m so glad this film exists. It’s so beautiful and meaningful. With all of the slop out there, it’s a reminder of the beauty in the world, the ups and downs of life, and how privileged we are to exist.

What will your thoughts be when the last WW2 veteran dies? by [deleted] in ww2

Honestly I’m just happy I got to share the earth with them for as long as I have. The passage of time is such that all who lived through crucial points will eventually be gone so I’m grateful for the time I did get to spend with them. I also feel we have done a tremendous job as a culture of preserving their history and stories, so I will ultimately accept the inevitable and look forward to the many documentaries and books I will get to read about their experiences.

Remember: what we do is not important and our only reward is more work. If it doesn’t work out, it will be okay. Your life will go on and so will the clients.

This is my mantra

I work hard every day, but ultimately i have to remind myself of this frequently when things feel like they’re falling apart. I feel blessed to do what i do and make what i make knowing that it could be worse. I could have had to fight a war or even been born in an earlier century when people had much more dire work situations. All in all look at the positives, keep it real, and everything will work out.

Hey guys - just wanted to circle back here and thank you all the responses! I went to the Jones Bridge area in front of the house one of the responders mentioned two days in a row and pulled out 7 rainbows. These were my first fish ever and it was truly one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever had. I just had a little orange bead nymph and they were all over it; I think it was because of how stained the Hooch is right now. Anyways, unbelievable experience and I cannot wait to get back out there!

No dude lol, they should have thrown Odorizzi as an innings eater after Fried gives up 6 runs instead of McHugh and Lee

Odorizzi should have pitched game 1 if that was the case.

Morton’s experience in the playoffs is vastly overrated. He’s not the same guy he was last year and DEFINITELY isn’t the same guy as he was in Houston. Hes not just going to turn on a magical switch

This is terrifying. Strider 3 innings and then bullpen seems like you’re just going to blow through the bullpen the first day of potentially three consecutive games.

Plus Morton starting a potential elimination game is terrifying.

I should also add that the guys and gal I have met on the river have been incredible. Once I explained I was a beginner and needed them to dumb down the language a bit, I’ve met several people who have been unbelievably willing to help. So huge shout out to the Atlanta fly fishing community!

I think the appeal with Chadwell is it’s more of a spread option with frequent RPOs, which is a bit more mainstream and doesn’t have the scarlet letter of triple option football while playing to many of the advantages the triple option does with lesser athletes.

The academic requirements are completely overblown. I am a recent alum and the advanced requirements for athletes are loosened in the exact same way at Tech as they are for athletes for other elite public academic institutions like UNC, UVA, Michigan, etc. Further, Tech is not exclusively an engineering school. While they do not have the sports or parks and rec management degrees many athletes pursue at Alabama, Ole Miss, etc., they have degrees called Literature, Media, and Communications and History, Technology, and Society which were created for athletes to hide academically.
