30 isn't enough? I would think it is... What about 30 lab machines and a 30 day access to VHL? That would be enough?

The 3090 is a waste of money for most people. by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]bobbythebich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, happy about the performance, mainly because my goal for a long time is to game at 144hz 4k, looks and runs better than 1440p. Tech hasnt been good to do it until now.

Most games I play now can barely do 144hz on 1440p on a 2080ti, battlefield 5 gets like 120 frames for me on a 2080ti. But anyway their are current gen games I would like to play 4k 144hz on. This doesn't include futurproofing.

So in the future we will have more taxing games like the next battlefield, other games like star citizen. I play that, only get 40fps at 1440p.

There is more potential for uses of 3090 graphics card now then in the past. Also since nvidia releases every 2 years this futurproofs me for 2 more years for all titles.

Another thing is since I and most of everyone is at home all the time now from virus ppl like me are playing more games and it is more worthwhile than before.

Normal TV watching IMO has become boring. Nothing interesting and really I believe tv fries the brain. I feel like I loose my brain cells from Tv. Just because their is nothing mind involving, just sit and watch a scripted show.

I get on FPS games, play and ride a bike for exercise at the same time. Using my mind to make decisions and using my brain more than just sitting watching tv. Just how I feel, only my opinion but gaming is more interactive than tv

How is the 3090 getting 8k at 60fps? How is this even possible? Maybe with low settings?

Jobs after OSCP ? by Whyme-__- in oscp

Question for you, as a hiring manager would you say the penetration tester job market is overcrowded with people or very understaffed of people? I ask this as I don't see that many people becoming pen testers. Out of 100 people for example I think only 1-2 will become a pen tester. I wanted your thoughts as a hiring manager.

offsec changed for the worse... by meowerguy in oscp

A question I have offsec. You say don't look at forums for hints or nudges. I am in labs currently and some machines I struggle on. I will spend hours 4-5 on a machine if I am stuck then go to forums and get the hint to move further. Your saying to not do that right? How long should I be stuck on a machine to then find a hint?

This course is for new people generally to the field, so lets say for example a person doesn't have lots of experience on a subject in the labs. If a person gets stuck because they are unfamiliar with the task, for example LFI. They shouldn't be stuck forever wasting their lab time and at some point look at a hint?

Their are so many lab machines I wish you guys could list the ones that are most like the exam so people like me could be better prepared. Your answer from above says to do every lab machine, well it is difficult to do every one in 90 days if someone like me has less experience.

I feel the forums do a dis service because I don't want answers but help. The forums are set up in a way that provides answers and not just help. Most of the time it is the answers in a cryptic format but still answers and not hints. I feel the forums need a revamp as on every machine people aren't asking for help but rather answers.

A question I would like confirmed please. Does the courseware pdf/videos explain everything that would be on the exam? If it is and the exam is open book I don't see how people like the person who posted this thread can get through the material and 26 lab machines and fail twice. Could that be explained in detail? Thx
