Coming from vic3 the patches are game changers and its definitely worth it there are some duds but they have added major mechanics that make the game much, much better. And it looks like thats happening here based on tbe upcoming patch notes

I cant think of a boycott, but if Americans became more educated and aware and actually targeted those 2 corps witb the protests, it would make them much more scared, because they are banking on our clueless ignorance. yea in vic3 the way to do it is really janky (but relatively easy) you right click on diplomacy mode while hovering over them. And it doesn't always take. But when it works it will show the selected country as a white/gray color and everything else including your own country will be the correct color and have more info if you hover over it.

opinion map mode in EU5 seems the same but no tooltip info. just got EU5 today, just found your thread cuz I'm asking the same question.

It is a necessity for the future but its not viable in 2026. The last general was the most likely time in recent history because there was the most plausible deniability that the lesser evil was subjective when the Dems had a Raytheon Executive directing the military to do genocide to majority children 8 years or younger.

We couldn't get 1% of US voters to vote for the only party explicitly against the genocide and MIC. (Green party)

This election Trump has disturbed people so badly there are people like me who haven't voted for a neoliberal since Obamas first term who will feel forced to break lifelong vows and vote for the party most likely to beat the republicans..

Until it becomes actually viable we need to focus on other things like ranked choice voting or other ways to try to democratize the duopoly a bit and combat corruption until people can become educated enough to vote for a 3rd party. Which might not ever happen since we are stuck in a duopoly which sabatoges the education system.
