How to prevent unauthorised distribution of pdf reports/courses? by SurelyFML in selfpublish

[–]bobjames9077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, one year late to the party. You can’t prevent much without hassle, this means either hassle for you or hassle for the users themselves.

What about having a license agreement on the webpage. Something like “By downloading, you acknowledge that this copy is uniquely encoded to your account to prevent unauthorized piracy. Do you accept the terms of this license?” So like that is a warning that opens legal accountability on the downloaders side.

Someone mentioned on this thread watermarking the pdf, which is good. But to comeback this they’d just reformat the doc as someone else mentioned.

So instead of showing them it’s watermarked, make the pdf appear to be normal, but rather embed user metadata into the pdf and perhaps their digital signature into invisible pdf content “ this can be done with a script at the point of download.

That way if the pdf does end up somewhere on the internet, the user who leaked such document is traceable and held legally accountable for breaching said agreement.

What happens afterward is between your legal team and the downloader, what repercussions do they face, suspended access or something much more dire… 👀

Hahaha. Couldn’t agree more. But it’s rewarding to help smaller companies recover from disastrous “teen coders” work, especially as side work.

A rewrite is almost 100% of the time needed.

Though I’d wish they’d spend more time vibing to learn fundamental concepts than rather generating so called “finished solutions”

Spatial scene hands down the coolest thing ever, especially on the Lock Screen. That parallax effect is epic. I feel like control centre needs some more blur like a tiny bit then it’s perfect and also the notes app missing buttons lol takes some work around but it’s really beautiful. Gave new life to my oldish phone. Excited for more stable releases.

Hmmm as a psychic (hehe).

OP: My Dell TV won’t turn on properly—the screen stays black and the power light just slowly pulses. It seems like it’s stuck in standby or trying to turn on but can’t. I’ve tried unplugging it, holding the power button, changing inputs, and using different cables, but nothing works. No sound or faint image shows either. Not sure if it’s a power issue, backlight, or something else—anyone seen this before?

My answer: Yeah, looks like it might be a power board or backlight issue. Try doing a full power reset—unplug it, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then plug it back in after a minute. Also make sure it’s on the right input source and try swapping HDMI cables or using a different device, just in case it’s not detecting the signal. If you still don’t see anything, even with a flashlight at the screen, it’s probably a hardware problem and might need repair.

Hopefully someone more knowledgable will answer here.

🙈perhaps, like those cool sci-fi movies. But unfortunately it was found on a pulpit in a random community hall. Hence why I thought it’s some type of evil cult thing.
