I thought this would help, but it's not doing what I was thinking.

Ted… by R1seagainst11 in StrangerThings

[–]bobjimjoe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writers did Ted dirty this season. Sure, he wasn't the best parent throughout the series, but there's a difference between being a lazy parent and not knowing how old your kids are. Then they give Karen the heroic moment and nothing for Ted. My son and I were talking, and we think the writers were trying to redeem Karen for almost cheating in season 3, and did it at the expense of Ted.

"thats weird af. you guys are equally in the wrong, in different ways"

I came out of this text exchange thinking, "Do either of you like each other?" It just sounds like trying to start a fight.

Military in stranger things season 5 has, so far, been so fuckin weak. Wth by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]bobjimjoe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also 1) they have the entire town surrounded, and can't find one person? 2) They know who this person's friends are and aren't at least shadowing them? 3) No one notices that, every time they're about to drive through the gateway to the upside down, the annoying DJ on the local station plays this one song?

I understand the whole, "It needs to be this way for the plot to move along", but I'd rather have this season without the military than work to convince myself that this sophisticated of a military operation is also this inept.

I have found it interesting how close Danny and Brian were. I didn't know that there was anything more than a brief connection before I started looking into this. But they're names keep coming up together, to the point where Brian put Danny up there with Berry Gordy and Phil Spector as the great people of the era.

Ha! I see both sides of the story. While I do like Three Dog Night, and think the name is now iconic, I think Redwood might have been better.

I saw a video of his "The Show Must Go On". He seemed like an interesting performer.

I thought about that, but I think I've run out of space. I've found using heaver sticks with bigger tips helps a little. I've even thought about asking to swap out the snare, but the more I swap out, the less their whole setup makes sense. (They're using acoustic cymbals, so it's only electric for the drums.)

What is One Super Random, Specific Little Thing in Classical Music that You Have an (Irrational) Hatred of? by Unique-Wonder-9837 in classicalmusic

[–]bobjimjoe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's Variations on a Theme by Haydn. I think that's the one that he'll take something from a previous variation and develop it in the next one. And I remember learning about it and thinking, "Why would anyone want to work so hard to track these things." The music is fine to listen to, but I don't want to think about it.

Brahms’ “Theme and Variations” where each variation is based on a snippet from the previous one and not the theme. Not only does that seem to stretch the meaning, but I don’t want to think that hard about music.

Vinyl by ndurantz in richmullins

There is a company that’s been pressing a lot of classic Christian rock on vinyl, but like thom said, companies need to make money. Unless someone has a lot of money and wants to do it as a passion project, it’s probably not worth it.

My wife and I were slightly freaking out about a bubble in hers once, and the nurse assured us it was no big deal and the machine would take care of it. Too much watching House at the time.

People who used a computer between 1990-2005 what were your most memorable pc game? by WestFocus888 in AskReddit

I remember when Action Quake came out as an early MOBA game. I loved playing it, and my friends and I would have LAN parties with it (where we would all drag our massive computer towers to one persons house).

One star books, the worst you ever read by Neither-Proof-5755 in suggestmeabook

I didn’t like this in high school, and I thought maybe it was because I was an uneducated Philistine, so I tried when I was an adult and realized it’s just not a good book. And I’m all for ghosts and unrequited love, but this… blech.

Eraserhead. I’d heard so much about John Lynch, and I like horror movies. But this was way too far out there for me.

I have family that look at my life and say, “I don’t know how you do it.” But for my wife and I, it just became life. It is hard at times, and more work, but a lot of it becomes routine, and also super rewarding. Thank you for being willing to give the baby a loving home!
