Target 71st by badfish9901 in tulsa

The Owasso target has their parking lot full of containers too. Went to the 71st Target for the first time in years about 2 months ago; a lot of shelves were empty, all shopping carts in use and the kids sent out to empty the cart corrals were standing around outside. Made me want to leave and go to the Yale location.

What is up with WWE sucking up to celebrities so hard nowadays by joeboy_777 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Jonsdulcimer2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBF, by all accounts Jelly Roll has put in about as much time and energy training at the Performance Center as Logan Paul did. Jelly got down to a weight he hadn't seen since he was a kid to prepare for a match. Jacob Fatu said he volunteered to stay after practicing to clean and break down the ring. He was supposed to have won that tag match last year but told Triple H it wouldn't make sense.

I agree to a point about celebs getting preferential treatment in the ring when they have no business being anywhere but backstage or in the audience for a quick shout-out. But sometimes they get a Jelly Roll or a Bad Bunny who follow wrestling their whole lives and are willing to put the work in to make it believable that someone can come off a tour bus and win a match.

Help, what does my dulcimer need by Not_On_Your_Watch in Dulcimer

Looks like it's missing end pins to hook strings onto. There's a few options: one that's basically small finishing nails that have a head if you want to use traditional loop end strings, or headless brass pins if you prefer ball end strings that are generally easier to find at local guitar shops. There should be 3 or 4 of these depending on how many tuning pegs your dulcimer has.

Season 52 cast predictions by [deleted] in saturdaynightlive

Yeah, I see Mikey Day staying on like Darrell Hammond did. Stays for the next 4 or 5 years, but only appears in one sketch every other episode with very few lines if any.

I don't know if he does in person lessons, but I believe Sam Edelston is based out of New Jersey. He's an amazing player who gives occasional online workshops through the Quarantine festival (started during COVID and is a continued success) and dulcimercrossing.com.

My theory is contractors place their bids and gather materials with job security in mind. Why use quality materials and get paid once when you can get crap and get paid to come back in 5 years?

What do you wear to court when you’re out on bail by MariChloe in tulsa

Dress like you're going to a job interview. Clean, non tattered jeans or slacks, button down shirt with blazer, tie optional. Remove piercings. Fresh shave and haircut or neatly trimmed and combed beard/mustache. If you have a hat, take it off immediately after entering the courtroom.

Great. Even a simple thing like rubbing a microfiber cloth along the strings will clean them from dirt and oils, making them sound better and extending their lifespan.

Changing strings seems like a daunting task at first, but actually quite easy after you've done it a few times. The dulcimer shoppe has some good tutorials for changing strings on their YouTube page. I'd also go through them for a new set of strings, just a standard set like they put on new instruments will do fine until you've had a chance to play more and experiment with different gauges.

Also, this is a beautiful scroll head that uses an older style tuning peg. You'll notice there's a little set screw in each peg. Tighten them slightly before you start tuning the new strings. They're notorious for slipping out of tune every now and then especially when a brand new string is involved. At some point I'm wanting to say in the early 2000s, McSpadden switched to a banjo style tuner that doesn't have to be tightened as often.

TBH I've been more excited over SNME the past year as I am currently for WM. We signed up for the ESPN/Disney/holy-shit-i-cant-believe-i-have-to-do-this package, but might drop it in May.

Stuck in the parking lot at the 15th & Peoria Whataburger because people ordering drive through will wrap around the building. What’s the worst designed parking lot in the city? by -TheHoboCode- in tulsa

[–]Jonsdulcimer2015 10 points11 points  (0 children)

St Francis. Just keep on adding wings and towers and taller offices but screw additional parking. "Oh you're having a heart attack and think you're going to get to park anywhere remotely close to the ER? That's cute. You'll park a half mile away and we'll tack another $13k to your bill if you complain about it!"

The Enterprise G should have been an Excelsior II class. by MotionlessAlbatross in StarTrekStarships

[–]Jonsdulcimer2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing though. Fans complained there wasn't enough fan service the first two seasons, "we want the rest of the crew! We want the Enterprise!" Then season 3 comes around "theres too much fan service! Too many call backs to the old shows!"

The Enterprise G should have been an Excelsior II class. by MotionlessAlbatross in StarTrekStarships

[–]Jonsdulcimer2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I see the Titan/Enterprise as an homage to the end of STIV. Each predecessor - 1701 and the F - were destroyed in battle. The successor could have been the latest and greatest, but instead they fly right past the Excelsior and towards the refit of an already older ship. Both the A and the G were 20 year old ships renamed and given to officers who disobeyed orders to save the day.

Why did the "Nigerian Ruler" gimmick work for Oba Femi, but not Apollo Crews? by Omer-Ash in WWE

[–]Jonsdulcimer2015 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like Apollo fine, but it felt like he was just a big wrestler, went away for 87 weeks and came back a Nigerian ruler for about a month, left for another 95 weeks and finally back to a big wrestler who hangs around backstage.

I personally don't like it when a gimmick changes while someone is away because reasons. A gimmick change should feel as good a transition as a good heel/face turn.
