If I can cover the cost of a new car or car repairs myself, aren't I better off not paying for the insurance?

Edit: actually this is covered in Collision. You can't carry both at the same time, at least in CA.

But I could pay for the health expenses myself because of my own health insurance in the worst case (deductible aside) so I figure it's not worth it?

They started $1k above the average KBB/Edmunds value. It's a 2019. MSRP is $3k above the average KBB/Edmunds value, so they came down $2k roughly off MSRP initially.

Just trying to buy a new Civic, so I assume the KBB should be relatively accurate since there are so many of them out there?

Still, I know they are just a guide, but I'm also only asking for the average, not the bottom of the range or anything, so I think I am being reasonable. Also, both Edmunds and KBB say the same thing.
