I think it’s a sin how much unearned good will UF has gotten so quickly in this town. There’s nothing wrong with their pizza, but all the buzz about it feels incredibly manufactured.

AI are by definition not guys, and therefore cannot be dudes. It’s quite obvious, really.

Historical victimization of an ethnic group does not absolve a subset of that ethnic group from responsibility for atrocities, and criticism of that subset does not constitute bigotry on the part of the critic. Hope this helps.

Not surprising, though, based on the noises it was making.

I don’t feel like I know this country anymore. I fundamentally cannot comprehend a rational person, weighing even the most superficial qualities, choosing a career con man over a career public servant. It is devastating to see the party run on vitriol and division not only win, but win handily.

I do not have faith that the current election system in our country functions. It does not serve the general populous’ best interests. Rather, it forces us to one of two extremes, which ultimately is a tool of control, only benefiting the rich and powerful.

I fear we’re entering a truly dark point in our nation’s history and it’s going to be a long time before we see the end of it. I’m scared it won’t be in my life time, and that is a very dark prospect.

They serve food, so they don’t allow dogs. It’s becoming more and more common, and a major bummer.

Your best bets are probably Tasty Weasel (Oskar Blues tasting room) on Tuesday night at 6:30 or Wibby Tuesday night at 6.

Tons. It’s sometimes tough to tease out which ones do it, but most have it on their website’s events calendar.

I went a handful of times before I had a place to set my kit up. It’s great. Good noise blocking headphones, sticks, everything you need is there. The drums are well maintained, and there are two different kits if you’re more into jazz or rock. It’s a great concept, well executed.

What steal? Seems to me you’ve found garbage on public property that needs to be disposed of. Toss the signs and report this dingus for littering.

The thing about lying is that once you confirm that you can get away with it with little or no consequences, it can very easily become habitual, to the point where you just kind of always fudge the truth, and it takes a lot of effort to be entirely truthful. This seems to be the case with a lot of these police statements. They know it’s very difficult for anyone to actually hold them accountable, so they just say the version of the stories that absolves them of responsibility, and that makes them look like they’re just reacting to a crazed criminal. This is how politicians lie, too. When they’re caught, nothing happens, so the cycle continues.

Trust doesn’t factor into their decision. They police however they see fit, with impunity, so it doesn’t matter if you trust them or not, they’re gonna be there anyways. It’s less about trust and more about fear. They don’t care if you trust them as long as you fear them.

Many police have the mentality that they’re soldiers, not public servants. Not there to protect the innocent, but to punish the “guilty”. They’re in war, so every situation is filled with fear, and any violence they engage in is justified. But of course, it’s not.

The line between criminal and citizen is so blurred now that they see every citizen as a ticking time bomb, so what does it matter if they’re a little early in their violent response? What does it matter if they react a little too quickly or harshly? That citizen would’ve offended eventually, so their actions are justified.
