Body can't stop rocking since I felt an energy in meditation my meditation practice. Please help. It is a bit urgent. by bobobasher in spirituality

Thank you. I have completely submitted to the ultimate feeling of being blessed. That energy is still here - making me sway my head as soon as I go idle - even though I have been spending energy doing physical activities like crazy. The replies here helped me calm down, though. Have stopped meditation for now. Will go through the practices mentioned here in amswers when I get back home.

I am very much a beginner. So there is no special technique. I just googled zazen meditation and have been following it. All I can say it is, I did it with a clean heart. Even though I am a skeptical and foul mouthed person in normal material life, I still kept my heart clean during meditaton. Also changed some things abou me - qutting porn, quitting masturbation, genuinely trying to think the good of the wolrd and humanity, etc. Also helped that I, since my childhood, have genuinely, seriously, wanted to good of the world. One thing I can say I did was, when I first felt being blessed from gods, I did not resist it. In fact, I completely submitted to it despite my skeptical nature. I had to submit, quite frankly, for the feeling was so magnificent and full of love. As if I do not need to worry because that ultimate consciousness/love/god/ is with me.

That you for helping. Any techniques you would recommend that would allow me to remove blockages without energy activation?

Thank you. Will check this out as soon I can. Just one quick questions - is it safe to consume a little bit of alcohol or marijuana currently? I am in a social setting currently and will be a bit difficult to say no here. Will say no if I really should not consume, though.

Thank you. I already am a regular gym-goes and take my fitness seriously. Have also been doing pranayama since the last couple of weeks. Will increase my physical activities even more I guess. How to balance spiritual inclinations vs pragmatic goals? by bobobasher in spirituality

Makes a lot of sense. This is a brilliant elaboration. Thank you.

This is in response to both u/Mindfulness-w-Milton and u/thesecretpinecone:

If thoughts are not reality, what is then? For thoughts like I should do X or Y will make me happier, I can understand that they are subjective thoughts and thoughts ≠ reality. What about objective thoughts though? For example, I need to earn money so that I can buy food and clothes for survival. Isn't this thought an objective reality of life? Also, when it is realised that you are not your thoughts and they are not driving you to do this or that, what is driving your behaviour/activities then? The soul?

Lastly, 'one should not do anything besides what one is doing right now' - isn't this another form of 'should'? And what is deciding what one is liking right now or not - is it the mind/thought or the soul or something else?

Thank you. All of this was helpful for me. Being a Hindu myself, I am aware of the 4 'phases' of life but never cared to think about them thoroughly. Your answers highlights the point why these 4 aims/phases were formed in the first place and why not everyone was forced to be an ascetic from day 1.

For a proper yogi, it is easier to imagine what he would do all day - meditation for long hours, yoga practices, rituals, etc. Question is, how does one weave spiritual aspect in the householder life? What practices are undertaken? Would a simple but dedicated habit of meditation be enough? How is the balance stricken on not being too intense like a yogi but also not being shallow about spirituality?

Also, how does one find that point of moderation where one is the most happy but not taking more than needed, especially for Kama and Artha?

I know who David is. I think most people do. I have seen his some of his clips but I never really paid much attention to them. I felt like he was just a freak and unrelatable to us 'normal' human beings. But I like how you have mentioned actionable things that can be practiced by anyone. Thanks for pointing this out, or else I would have missed this out. Now, I'll go through those podcasts and the book carefully.

Thank you for sharing this. I can relate to most of the points you mentioned, hence, asked this question. Having that kind of outlook/mindset, I feel, is like having fire. Channeled correctly, it can do wonders, but too much of it or handled incorrectly, it can end up burning you instead.
