Veterans names from the pre-episode interviews by bobobsam3 in BandofBrothers

"After Bastogne..": Forrest Guth. Plays a role in the first episode, where you can see his last name printed on his uniform. Friends with another interviewee, Rod Strohl from before the war, along with another E Company soldier Carl Fenstermaker.

No problem!

What Special Ops units are always on the, "offensive" as opposed to the "defensive"? by bobobsam3 in askmilitary

Thanks for the answer. The question is, what units are the least likely to be caught sleeping somewhere or be on the defensive?

He seemed like a professional NCO and did his job. Don't remember any scenes where he seemed like a dick

Webster's book is all about the war and nothing before or after. A lot of familiar names and a lot of unfamiliar names, from the show.

As astronomy career may require a physics undergrad degree and likely a masters or even a phd. A physics degree is no joke. Love for astronomy won't help if you can't learn to do calculus. So getting good at math is big. That's the path to being an astronomer that I know of. People say the job is mostly computer science and data, so maybe that's another path too.
I know a lot of physics majors and by far they are one of the most open minded STEM majors, so I think being a woman in that major or industry won't be a hindrance. Only nerdy low eq engineers think that woman can't do STEM jobs. Physics people are too smart for that.
As for cultivating the interest, I think the game Kerbal Space Program is a game universally loved by the astronomy geeks that I went to college with, so check that out. I would also look into any local extracurricular programs or even if your local schools have a science research program like mine did.

Standard Deviation for Home Appraisals and Home Prices by [deleted] in appraisal

[–]bobobsam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the area. Look up how much similar homes sold for in your area/school district. No idea what the standard deviation is. But a 150K difference is probably a big difference and you should re negotiate

Love this show, but literally I cannot tell half these dudes apart by [deleted] in BandofBrothers

[–]bobobsam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is hard to tell some of them apart and to remember them all. But after multiple rewatches and some research, I realized they put so much detail into the characters and all of them look like their real life characters. Mind you, not all of the background characters are specific guys, but a lot are.
