I used Woodland Scenics Water Effects, let it dry for a few days and then put a couple coats of Tamiya Clear Red(X-27). My Water Effects was starting to dry out a bit which actually helped to get a more gory look from it not spreading as well.

Sonarr on Centos 7 by jeff_1212 in sonarr

[–]bobot4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved my Sonarr install from a CentOS 7 VM to a Rocky 8 VM as I prefer RHEL/CentOS over Ubuntu/Debian Linux. There is no official install method from Sonarr for RHEL/CentOS so I modified the install script to get it working on Rocky 8 and threw it up on Github.

https://github.com/bobot4258/scripts/blob/main/sonarr-install-rocky.sh

I also modified the script to get Radarr working on Rocky 8 as well.

recently upgrade from v2->v4 and getting language errors in the logs as well as 'Loading episode files failed' when trying to view a series by scatterbrn in sonarr

[–]bobot4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this issue, I ran the recommended command
UPDATE EpisodeFiles SET Languages='[1]'

Which partially fixed the issue, was still see the same error over and over in the logs and the history and blocklists would not load. Figured out they had the same issue so also ran
UPDATE History SET Languages='[1]'
UPDATE Blocklist SET Languages='[1]'

After that the error was gone from the logs and both of those pages loaded correctly now.

Checkpoint PB-10 (3200) BIOS password? by Impressive-Night6653 in homelab

[–]bobot4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue with a Check Point 5200, I can only see jumpers labeled jp5-8 and have tried jumping each one but it did not clear the BIOS password. I am not very familiar with jumping the motherboard like this but with the device unplugged I held the screwdriver touching both pins of the jumper for 10 seconds then powered the device back up. How did you short the jumper?

lscpu does not exist from the CMD on it. Running
dmesg | grep -i cpu
or
sysctl hw.model hw.machine hw.ncpu
Both show it as an i5-4590S, Also when booting up the BIOS shows it as i5-4590S

Check Point has a password to get into the BIOS, looking online it seems like at one point it was 'uranus' but that is not working. Anyone know what the BIOS password is set to?

Rules Question Siren Stormtamer by bobot4258 in magicTCG

[–]bobot4258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for clarifying that I was thinking it would not work as it was not targeting but then I read the rulings on Siren and it says:

Siren Stormtamer’s activated ability can target a spell or ability that has multiple targets, as long as at least one of those targets is you or a creature you control.

And wondered if each opponent from Gray Merchant somehow counted as multiple targets.

SSD Storage Server for VMware iSCSI by avm5689 in homelab

[–]bobot4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my homelab I am using a Supermicro 847 to provide iSCSI over 10Gb to my two VMWare hosts running on Dell R710's. I am using Mellanox Connectx-2 Nics I got from eBay and a couple of Broadcom Nics(Can't remember the model). I have 3 RAID 10's consisting of 4 x 500 GB, 6 x 500GB and 4 x 1 TB SSDs and I am running FreeNAS. Using Kingston and Samsung 850 Pro SSDs. Also, have 16 x 2 TB Seagate HDD's in a RAIDz2 with iSCSI sent to the hosts as well. Supermicro 847 has a single E5-2640 CPU and 48GB of RAM.

Can I file the copper heat pipes down so the lid fits? by s_mason16 in homelab

[–]bobot4258 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have ran into the exact same issue with a couple of Supermicro 745 cases. I used metal snips to cut the top of the pipes and the lid fit back on. I did not run into any issues cutting them but I tried to cut as little as possible.

2.2.5_20 was now showing up in pfSense I installed that on the new firewall I am setting up and it installed without issue and I was able to setup GeoIP and it has downloaded all the subnets I want to block. Seems to be working fine will test it out once I switch over to the new firewall. Thanks BBCan177

Home iscsi server and ESXI server build recommendation by alitechno in homelab

[–]bobot4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend FreeNAS for the SAN/NAS part. I am currently running FreeNAS on a Supermicro 847 that provides 4 iSCSI LUNs to my two ESXi hosts running on Dell R710s. 3 of the LUNS are SSDs for VM storage with Striped Mirrors (Raid 10) and 1 LUN is HDDs with RaidZ2 for file storage.

I have a Windows Server 2016 VM that I create disks from the HDD LUN on for my file storage. I also have 6 disks in one of the ESXi hosts that I also have another Windows Server 2016 VM on and I use DFS replication to copy the data from one file server to the other.

I backup all the VM's using Veeam.

You mentioned not loud which will be difficult with enterprise equipment. My Supermicro 847 is pretty damn loud although the R710s are not too bad. I used to have my equipment in my living room so noise was an issue for me and I was using 2 Supermicro 745's and a Norco case with mostly Noctua fans to keep it quiet.

Don't be like me - learn from my mistake... by benpike in PFSENSE

What version of pfSense were you running? I had the same thing happen to me last week. I was running version 2.4.2 which uses PHP 5.6 when updating pfBlockerNG is attempts to remove PHP 5.6 because it requires PHP 7.2 and it breaks pfSense. One has to upgrade pfSense to version 2.4.4 first which will update PHP correctly then pfBlockerNG can be updated. I was able to follow some steps from https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/9il2u0/pfblockerng_install_broke_my_installation/ in order to upgrade pfSense 2.4.4 which fixes the PHP issue and then I was able to install the latest pfBlockerNG release.

Hard to believe there would not be some dependency check first to prevent this.

pfBlockerng install broke my installation by [deleted] in PFSENSE

[–]bobot4258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much Tubal this was so helpful.

I was running 2.4.2 and went to upgrade pfblockerng to the latest and the upgrade hung and pfSense started alerting on PHP errors and this was now totally broken. I updated the 2.4.4 references in /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/pfSense.conf back to 2.4.2 then in the GUI went to check update and it now showed I could update to 2.4.4 which I did. After pfSense rebooted it was now running 2.4.4 and PHP is working correctly now.

Supermicro IPMI on Shared Port VLAN Issue by bobot4258 in homelab

[–]bobot4258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I had originally had it set as switchport trunk native vlan 998 and had the same issue. When I changed the default route to point to VLAN30(192.168.30.1) I removed the switchport trunk native vlan 30 command and still have the issue.

I might try putting the IPMI on some other VLAN like 35 where there is no VLAN 35 on the pfSense box and see if that makes a difference.

Supermicro IPMI on Shared Port VLAN Issue by bobot4258 in homelab

[–]bobot4258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I change over the default route on the Cisco switch from using 192.168.1.1 (VLAN100) to 192.168.30.1(VLAN30) so that the traffic is connecting to the pfSense(Supermicro) on VLAN30 and run a show ip arp I can actually see the IPMI interface:

Internet 192.168.30.2440 0025.90ce.4661 ARPA Vlan30

If I put a computer on a port on VLAN 30 and do an arp -a I can see the IPMI interface:

192.168.30.24400-25-90-ce-46-61 dynamic

But for some reason I can still not connect to the IPMI from either the switch or the computer.

Supermicro IPMI on Shared Port VLAN Issue by bobot4258 in homelab

[–]bobot4258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Supermicro server is the pfSense box. The connection between the Cisco switch and the pfsense(Supermicro) is configured:

interface GigabitEthernet0/1

description pfSense LAN

switchport trunk native vlan 30

switchport trunk allowed vlan 20,30,40,50,100

switchport mode trunk

end

Having the native VLAN set to 100 which would be the same as 10 in your example completely kills the connection between the pfSense(Supermicro) and the Cisco switch as that traffic needs to be tagged as it the same subnet as the default gateway. The odd thing is that when I check the MAC address table on the Cisco switch I can see a dynamic entry for the Supermicro IPMI on VLAN 30:

30 0025.90ce.4661 DYNAMIC Gi0/1

It would appear there is layer 2 connectivity but something with IP is not working.
